A Royal Response for Ochiltree Primary

We were delighted to receive a wonderful letter from Buckingham Palace following our invitation to His Majesty The King to join us in celebrating Ochiltree Primary School’s 50th Anniversary.

Although His Majesty was unfortunately unable to attend, he asked for his sincere thanks to be passed on to our school community and sent his warmest good wishes to everyone involved in the celebrations.

P7 Water Fight

As part of our P7 leavers celebrations, we’ll be having a water fight tomorrow afternoon!

Please make sure your child brings:

  • A towel and/or a change of clothes
  • Any water guns or water balloons they would like to use (optional)

Parents and carers of P7 pupils are warmly invited to come along to watch or even join in the fun if they wish! Please join us from 2:15pm.

We’re looking forward to a fantastic afternoon and a memorable way to celebrate our P7s before they move on.

Afternoon of 24.6.26

During lunch on Wednesday 24th June, our Primary 7 pupils will have a Dominos Pizza lunch as pat of their leavers treat. This will include cheese and pepperoni pizza as voted for by the pupils.

After lunch time, all pupils from P5 – P7 will watch Zootropolis 2, which has been given a PG rating. If you have any concerns or would prefer your child does not watch the film, please let the school know before viewing.

!! Medication Collection – Important !!

Parents / carers of pupils who have medication held at school during term time are requested to collect all medication on Friday 26th June by 1pm before the start of the summer holidays.

Medicines cannot be sent home with your child, and will need to be signed out by a parent / guardian.

Please contact the school office on 01290 700351 should you wish to discuss this further.

Thank you

50th Celebration Blog

In order for us to share all our photographs and videos from our celebration week, we have created a special 50th Celebration Blog. This can be accessed through the link below or via our school website, through the tab created on the home page.

Ochiltree Primary 50 Years Celebration

We would like to thank all our guests who have attended so far, thank you to the Parent Council for the ice cream van this afternoon and to Councillor Kyle for attending today. Reminder that tomorrow morning we have our Strings performance at 9:00am and our community afternoon tea at 1:30pm. All families and guests welcome!

Sumdog Competition

East Ayrshire’s Maths Contest is now live on Sumdog. The contest will run from Monday 15th June until Friday 19th June at 12:00pm.

The contest will automatically appear on your child’s dashboard when they log in. They will see their progress as they answer questions – when they get to 70,  175, 350 and 525 correct answers they get rewards. Click ‘start‘ and select a game from the games page. The questions answered in the games will count towards the contest.

Answering questions in a contest

Students can answer questions at any time during the period of the contest, including outside of schools hours. As they answer the questions they’ll be able to see the number of questions they’ve gotten correct out of the number of questions they’ve answered in total.

Every child can answer up to 700 questions. When this number is reached, their answers will stop counting towards the leaderboard but they can continue answering math questions!

Students participating in a Contest can earn a range of prizes.

There are several types of prizes that students and classes can earn.

Coins and special items for the house will appear automatically in the recipient’s inventory.

Certificates can be awarded to the First Place Class, Daily Winning Class and Top 10 Students.

We are encouraging all pupils to take part in this contest. Good Luck!
