THE KING’S FOUNDATION PERFORMING ARTS PROGRAMME

The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Junior Conservatoire Music, The King’s Foundation at Dumfries House and East Ayrshire Council are offering the opportunity for children Primary 5-7 (as of August 2026) who currently receive string tuition within the classroom in the Cumnock, Doon and Auchinleck areas the opportunity to further their instrumental progression for free supported through funding from The King’s Foundation.

Through the Music Centre programme, children are offered instrumental string lessons delivered in small groups, practical musicianship classes and the opportunity of playing in a string orchestra setting.

Classes are led on a weekly basis by a team of professional music specialists and are designed to give young learners a high quality cohesive music education, delivered in a fun and inspiring environment.

The open evening will take place on Wednesday 24th June from 4pm – 5pm at the Pierburg Building on the Dumfries House Estate. If you would like to attend to learn more about the programme and have your young person measured for an instrument to begin lessons, please click on the link below to proceed through the form.
