Physical Education:

Quality physical activity not only improves your physical well being but can help with your mental and emotional well being as well.

I have compiled a grid of PE choices for you to select from.  Please ensure you are completing at least 30 minutes of quality physical exercise each day.

Mental, Emotional and Social Wellbeing:

Ensure you wake up at your usual time, and get dressed for the day.  Don’t spend all day in your PJs!

Keep a diary about your thoughts and feelings whilst not at school.  These can be short notes, or longer paragraphs.  Remember to share your diary regularly  with a parent or guardian.

Limit your time on screen devices throughout the day.Learn a new skill such as drawing, sewing or cooking instead.

Schedule time to talk to friends and family.

Help out with chores around the house.  Can you keep your bedroom tidy and make your bed?  Can you separate your washing?

Planning for Choices and Changes:

Make a mind map of different jobs and careers you may be interested in.  What skills, qualities and qualifications do you need to achieve these jobs?

Use the UK government website to see which jobs best suit your personality.

Science

Here are some videos from the Glasgow Science Centre that you might find interesting and support your learning:

Create a space book with facts about each of the planets.  your space book should contain diagrams and accurate information including distance from the sun, atmosphere, conditions etc.

Download a stargazing app on your phone or tablet.  Go outside in the dark and hold the tablet/ phone to the sky.  What constellations can you see?  Can you use cotton buds to recreate the constellations you have observed like this example:

Over the course of 2 weeks, observe the phases of the moon.  Keep a moon diary and use the correct terms such as waxing and waning, full, gibbous, crescent, quarter, crescent and new.

If you feel like getting messy and creative, create models of the planets by using balloons and paper mache!

Investigate gravity and mass by making paper helicopters.  Use this template to make them:
