A gentle reminder that all children will be attending our final mass of the school year this morning at 11.30am. Then in the afternoon, we celebrate our Primary 7 leavers assembly as they prepare to move onto their new high schools. We wish them the very best of luck ๐
As we enter into our final week of term Primary 7 are busily preparing for their Leavers’ Assembly.
This will take place on Thursday 27th June at 2.00pm.
Parents/carers of P7 pupils are invited to attend and may arrive at the main school entrance from 1.50pm. We look forward to seeing you there.
As the end of term is fast approaching, the school would like to say a great big thank you to our parents and friends of Mount Carmel for organising this years fun day.
The children will take part inย day full of great activities including bouncy castles, obstacles courses and a visit to the ice cream van.
They will also be taking part in outdoor play session. The children are invited to bring in bikes and scooters for this activity (they also must bring a helmet for health and safety reasons)
And finally, the children are encouraged to wear their own clothes tomorrow. We ask that no child comes into school wearing football colours of any description. The children should wear comfortable clothes and shoes for all of the fun and active activities they will be taking part in.
As always, we thank you for your ongoing support.
Early Closure Summer 2024 Transport Update
The Summer School closure on Friday 28th June 2024 whereby all schools close at 1pm will no doubt have an impact on pupils who access school transport. We have many linked contracts that serve both primary pupils as well as secondary pupils across both Mainstream and ASN Schools.
To ensure sufficient transport provision on this date and to ease congestion, all contractors will arrange to collect primary children at 12.25pm.ย
Check out your child’s Learning Journals page for some photos from our recent trip to Blair Drummond.
Reminder that school will close for Summer holidays on Friday 28th June @1pmย and will re open for children on Wednesday 21st August @9amย
We hope you all have a brilliant summer breakย

Letters have gone home today regarding Breakfast Club. This year we have received over 60 requests for places, however, we continue to have only 30 spaces. This will result in a number of families not receiving a space.
As our Breakfast Club staffing is not authority funded but funded using our Pupil Equity Fund this means that spaces are allocated linked to a range of criteria including:
Receiving a place in previous years does not guarantee a space for the coming year. Daily fees of ยฃ1 ( currently supplemented to reduce costs to 80p) this covers the authority cost of food only.
If you have received a letter offering your child a space at Breakfast Club for Session 23/24 please return to the school office no later than Wednesday 26th June
We currently have a waiting list for spaces at breakfast club therefore if we donโt receive your letter by this date accepting the place allocated to your child we will assume that the place is no longer required and allocate the space to one of our waiting list children.
Thank you for your support with this.
The children have had a wonderful day at our singalong and dance-along fundraiser for the Martin Chambers Ecudor Trust.
At present we have managed to raise an AMAZING ยฃ1129, however if you still have any sponsor money you would like to donate this can be paid via Parentpayย
Thankyou to everyone for sponsoring the children and helping to raiseย funds for this wonderful charity.
I would just like to say thank you all so much again for giving up your own time yesterday to help at our career day. Without all of your help it wouldnโt have been such a success! The children had a fantastic day learning different information about your job roles as well as having the opportunity to try on and use the equipment that was brought and have the opportunity to see the emergency service vehicles too! Mount Carmel are super grateful for you all and we hope you enjoyed our day too!
Thank you,
Miss Grimley
All sponsor money should be brought into school tomorrow morning.
The children will enjoy a day of celebrating everything Father Martin loved from coming together as a school to singing and dancing.
The chidren are encouraged to wear clothes that represent the colours of Ecuador (yellow, blue and red), a place very loved by Father Martin. If your child down not own clothes with these colours, please do not worry. It is simply a non uniform day then.
We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow and let’s raise some money for our dear friend โค
The upper school enjoyed an afternoon of celebrations as a reward for all of their hard work during the rehearsals and performances of Matilda โค๏ธ
P4 have been having a great time during their music technology inputs with Stuart from Sonappa.

In certain circumstances class restructuring may have to take place during the summer break, after a school session has started or, in very exceptional circumstances, at any point during the year.
Children spent time with their new class teacher on Thursday afternoon.
P4 had a fantastic afternoon celebrating their First Communion.
We had a delicious cake made by the very talented Ann from the kitchen, and enjoyed some party games and dancing.
We were delighted to be joined by Fr.Jim.
We are so proud of the hard work of our wonderful pupils at Mount Carmel for all of their efforts towards making our school more eco friendly. Our Eco Committee have helped to drive forward changes within our school to gain our โHighly Commended Bronze Awardโ through the Clean Green initiative as well as our green eco flag. This is only our first year in our eco journey so we are immensely proud of these achievements.
A special mention to Hannah and Sophia (P7), who introduced many eco strategies across the school and ย monitored their impact. Also, Mrs McGahon, our Eco Champion who has led our Eco Committee and supported our children throughout the year.
Hannah and Sophia attended the Clean Green Awards to collect our award and flag. They had a fantastic day networking with other schools. They enjoyed listening to all the eco friendly changes other schools have made.
Next Thursday 20th June is World of Work Day for the whole school. Children can come to school dressed as they please or as a profession they want to be.
Some of our wonderful parents/carers have kindly given up their time to come in to speak to and demonstrate their professions with the children. We have peopleย from the Fire Service, Police, Healthย Visitorsย and Nurses to name a few. We will also have coaches from Kilmarnock Football Clubย and there will be refreshments for the adults.ย
Some of our Primary 4 children recentlyย joined Sr Rose, Sr Mabel and Sr Juliet, to celebrate their feast day.
The children had great fun learning some traditional dances and they were delighted to take part in the offertory procession during the feast day Mass at St. Matthew’s Church.
Well done for your wonderful participation and fantastic dancing!
The staff and children would like to say a great big thank you to Beth for all of her hard work during rehearsals. She gave up her own free time to come along and help us choreograph the dances for our show. Take a Bow are very lucky to have such a talented girl on their staff โค๏ธ
