Here are this week’s home learning tasks:

Spelling

  • We are continuing our focus on the ‘ow’ phoneme this week
  • Complete 4 activities to practice these words:

Reading

  • Read the allocated pages in your reading book on Bug Club and answer the bug questions.
      • Gryffindor- Kura’s Story p39-50
      • Ravenclaw- Heading for Glory p31-48
      • Slytherin- Fright at the Fair p25-32
      • Hufflepuff- Animal Crackers

Maths


IDL

  • We are going to do an experiment later this week on floating and sinking. Can you find out which materials are good for floating in water? Materials may include paper, cardboard, plastic, wood, tinfoil etc.
  • You could research this online or gather the materials and try them for yourself,  if you have them at home.

  • We are continuing our focus on the “soft c” rule so you have a new set of soft c words this week
  • Complete four different spelling activities to practice your spelling words
  • The words for each group are in the link below:

Maths

  • There is an 8x table challenge on Sumdog, as well as an addition and subtraction challenge to reinforce our classwork. Please complete these for Friday.

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a great weekend and are ready to start a new week!

Here is your home learning tasks:

Spelling

  • This week we are learning about the soft c rule in class, so all words are soft c words
  • Choose 4 spelling activities to complete with your new word list


Maths

  • For maths this week, we are going to reinforce our knowledge of adding and subtracting using mental strategies
  • You will be given an activity in class to complete at home in your maths homework jotters. Please write down the steps you have followed for each question as we have been doing in class. 
  • There is also a 7x table challenge set on Sumdog to be completed by Friday please

IDL

  • Wednesday 11th November is Remembrance Day and we will be doing some activities in class to mark this important day
  • Have a think about the following questions and discuss them with someone at home:
      1.  Why do we have Remembrance Day?
      2.  Why is it important to remember every year?
      3.  Poppies are often associated with Remembrance Day.          What do poppies symbolise and why do people wear them?
  • We will be discussing these questions in class on Wednesday so have your answers ready for then!
