Monday 18th January

Good morning everyone. I hope you all had a good weekend.

Thank you to everyone who got in touch either by email or by putting a comment on the blog last week. I am delighted to say I have heard from almost everyone in the class. The photographs were fantastic and I can see you are all working very hard and also having lots of fun. My mouth was watering when I saw the yummy shortbread that some of you have been making. I have attached this week’s activity grid and attachments. Have a good week everyone!

Friday 15th January

Well it’s Friday already! Hope you have all had a good week. It will take a wee bit of time for us all to adjust to learning at home but so far I think everyone is doing brilliantly. I have had emails or comments on the blog from more than half the class. I am looking forward to hearing from everyone else. I am in school again today so you might not hear back from me straight away.

Miss Kinnaird, who is our ‘Covid Recovery’ teacher, is working with P1s on a Thursday in school. She will be making some little videos to share online. Watch out for the first one at the beginning of next week.

Have a good weekend everybody!

Good afternoon everyone,

I hope that you had a lovely Christmas and New Year with your families.  The school is very quiet without you – I am missing you all very much.  I hope that we can all be back together soon.

I wonder if any of you spotted this handsome little fella in Miss Kinnaird’s winter weather video on the school blog?

This is Mylo and he is my new puppy nephew. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to meet him in person over the holidays because he lives too far away but hopefully I will see him soon.  I wonder if there were any new animal additions to your families over Christmas time?

Thursday 14th January

Good morning, boys and girls.

How are we all today? It would be good if you could add a comment to this post telling me about your favourite Christmas present. I’ve missed hearing all about Christmas and what you have been doing.

Some of you have been in touch by email and it has been lovely to see all the good work you are doing.
I am in school today and tomorrow but I will try and reply to your emails as quickly as I can.

I was checking Bug Club and I was delighted to see almost everyone has read their latest book. Well done! Let’s see if everyone can do this by Friday.

Some people are unable to play their HAM games on Active Learn. We are looking into this.

Some parents have been asking about writing. I have explained that the writing skills of children in P1 develop at different rates. At this time of year some children can write a short sentence independently whilst others need support with an adult scribing for them. Encourage your child to write any words they can on their own. Please do not worry about what stage your child is at. Everyone is different and all the children have worked hard mark making and producing more detailed drawings which in turn leads to writing words and sentences.

Tuesday 12th January

Morning everyone!

Hope you are settling in to remote learning and managing to do some of the activities from the grid. You can send me a message in the comments section. I would love to hear from you.

What a horrible wet day it was yesterday! I think it’s to be better today so hopefully you might get out to play or for a walk.

If there is anything you are not sure about just send me an email.

Have a great day!
