Primary 2/3 went on a pattern hunt around the school then created their own patterns in the garden.
The children noticed lots of patterns such as the squares in the windows, the bricks on the wall, the metal railings outside.

What a huge smile this pupil had on her face when being given compliments by her peers. It’s so lovely to see how much this boosts self-esteem and promotes kind words to help build each other up.
We explored the playground for different 3D shapes and discussed their properties including how many faces, edges and vertices they have. Â P2/3 then continued their learning in class further.
P2/3 enjoyed their spelling practise yesterday. P3 were practising the ‘mb’ sound and P2 were consolidating the ‘ee’, ‘oo’ and ‘ck’ sounds.
Today in PAThS, primary 2/3 learned about comfortable and uncomfortable feelings and discussed some examples of these including; happy, excited, confident, sad, nervous and embarrassed. Primary 2/3 were able to identify ways that these feelings might be displayed on the outside of their bodies and how they might spot if someone is feeling any of these feelings.
Finally, the main message that primary 2/3 took from today was that it is okay to feel comfortable and uncomfortable feelings.
We completed our PAThS lesson with picking our PAThS pupil of the day and giving her some compliments. PAThS pupils are also encouraged to give themselves a compliment.
Learning Intention (1) – We are learning to create a setting. Learning Intention (2) – We are learning to use openers and adjectives in our writing.
I am so impressed by the writing work produced in primary 2/3 last week. We were learning about ‘setting’ and adjectives during our writing lesson to help us create our own spooky setting. Look how proud these two pupils are showing off their writing after sharing it with Mrs Davidson.
