Home Circles @ November

In our Home Circles we focused on Article 12 of the UNCRC which states that ‘children have the right to express their views freely on all matters affecting them, and that their views and opinions should be listened to and taken seriously’.

Our BIG questions were –

When is your opinion listened to in Catrine PS?  When is your voice heard?

Why is it important that your opinion is listened to?  Why is it important that your voice is heard?

Check out our awesome answers below …

Well done!

We are very proud of Brody in Primary 7 who has been selected for the EAC Primary School District Football team for session 2025/26.

Brody participated in a tough trial process over the last few weeks and we’re delighted that he’s going to represent Catrine PS this year.  The District team play games against teams from all over Scotland and we look forward to hearing how they get on.

Revive & Thrive Toy Sale

A huge thank you for all the wonderful donations of pre-loved toys and games.  P7 have been working hard behind the scenes, ensuring everything is in working order and ready to make its way to its new home.

The ‘Revive and Thrive’ sale will be open to pupils on Wednesday 26th November.  Each class will have an allocated time slot to visit the toy sale and purchase pocket money toys.  A maximum of £3 can be sent with each child.  Can we ask that pupils bring loose change (no notes) and a carrier bag, to make sure their purchase makes it home in one piece.

We have some incredible treats on offer including board games, cars, army toys, books, dolls and accessories, fidgets, lorries, dinosaurs – the list goes on.

School Tombola

Just a wee reminder if you have any items at home that would be suitable for the school fayre tombola, please hand them into the school before Friday 28th November.

We all have a cupboard with items that we buy for presents and never use or have unwanted gifts. Your support is appreciated.

Thank you

The Parent Council have approached us with an opportunity for pupils to be a football mascot at an upcoming football match.

Please see the details below. If you are interested please contact the school with your child’s details or contact Dawn at the Parent Council, by Monday 3rd November.

Road Safety at Catrine PS

Getting our children to and from school safely is the responsibility of everyone in our village.

Catrine PS is proud to be a School Streets area and to keep our pupils safe we have parking restrictions in place around our school streets at both drop-off and pick-up times.

Between 8.45-9.15am and 2.45-3.15pm, the streets around our school should be free from all unnecessary traffic, apart from residents, to ensure our pupils and wider school community can enter and leave our school safely.

We have noticed an increase in the number of pupils being dropped off at the school each morning, and in the number of cars being parked at our school gates.  If your child can walk to school, we ask that you encourage them to do so to keep the traffic away from our School Streets area.

We would appreciate your  support in this matter.  Thank you.
