Staffing Changes

Catrine ECC – changes to staffing

Our Depute Manager, Alana Speirs, has been given the amazing opportunity of being Head of Centre at Darvel ECC from August to October 2026.

We are so upset that she’s leaving us for a wee while even though we’re pleased for her in her new role. We’ll let you know the new management details in August 2026 for the children returning. Alana leaves us with the ECC being wonderfully organised and ready for the new term.  We wish her all the luck in the world and look forward to welcoming her back!

Thank you for your Donation

Thank you to Nicola & Bridge Between who have kindly donated £148.50 to Catrine PS.

This kind donation will be used to purchase Physical Education clothing like shorts and indoor gym shoes, which the whole school will benefit from.

Thank you Nicola for selecting Catrine Primary School.

Summer Trip – Warm Weather

Weather forecast for tomorrow is warm & sunny.

Can you please ensure that your child has water with them.

I have checked with Heads of Ayr and water bottles can be filled up when in the park.

Please also apply suncream and maybe wear a sun hat and sunglasses.

If your child is prone to hayfever, please administer medication before they come to school.

Thank you

P6 BIG SLEEPOVER

Our P6 pupils enjoyed a brilliant BIG Sleepover last Friday night.  Miss Burleigh and some parents joined us for some great team games (with maybe a  wee bit of cheating taking place …) and then we had hotdogs and toasted marshmallows around the campfire.

We then got into our PJs, made up our beds in the wee gym hall (gym mats and sleeping bags!), watched the Scotland game on the big screen and eventually got to sleep around 2.30am!

Everyone was up by 7.30am (although some were awake from 6.00am!), we had our breakfast and tidied up and everyone was collected by 8.00am.  Mrs Schendel and I then went home and slept for the rest of the day!

Well done to our P6 pupils for a funny, loud, sweetie-filled sleepover.

Sports Day

The whole school took part in some fun novelty races for Sports Day in the hall this morning. We had a great time despite family and friends not being able to join us.

Well done to Ayrbank who were the winning house with the most points.

Thank you to Tesco in Auchinleck who kindly donated fruit for our Sports Day.

Sports Day Up Date

Catrine PS – Sports Day
Unfortunately, the weather forecast for tomorrow morning, Thursday 18th June, is for really heavy rain so we will NOT be having our Sports Day at the Riverside Park.
We will still go ahead with Sports Day in the school hall but this means that we don’t have room for family and friends to join us.  We appreciate that is disappointing news and we’re not happy about it either but we simply don’t have any other suitable days left to try for another dry day.
Pupils should come to school tomorrow dressed for Sports Day, wearing their house colours, if they can.  We’ll make sure that our pupils have a great time by taking part in lots of fun activity races tomorrow, cheering them on to win points for their house.
Thanks for your understanding.  Mrs Govans
