Our summer club at the Boswell Centre, Well Road, Auchinleck will run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for the first six weeks of the school holidays and the Tuesday and Thursday of the final week. Registration starts at 9.45am each morning and children should be picked up by a responsible adult at 12.30pm.

Avalon pupils had a great time at their House Reward Party at the Games this afternoon.
They had bouncy castles, face painting, karaoke and lots of other fun activities.

The whole school took part in some fun novelty races for Sports Day in the hall this morning. We had a great time despite family and friends not being able to join us.

Join us for sports and activity camps across East Ayrshire to help celebrate the excitement of the World Cup and Commonwealth Games. ⚽🏅
Come along, have fun, meet in with new and old friends to try a variety of sports and activities inspired by the World Cup and Commonwealth Games. There will be games, challenges, skills drills and team-based activities throughout, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy regardless of experience or ability, so don’t miss out!

The whole school took part in a wide variety of fun activities for Health Week this week.
On Monday we were learning about the RNLI and water safety as well as learning about oral health and the importance of brushing our teeth.
On Tuesday we had lots of fun activities in our House groups. We took part in a Kahoot quiz, food tasting with Eddie and Amy from The Cotton Trail, outdoor play, litter picking and Commonwealth Games art activities.
On Wednesday we had some special visitors: Rebecca the optometrist and Gerry the firefighter. We also had our ‘Bump Up’ afternoon where we got to move into our new classes and meet our teachers for next session.
On Thursday we had an amazing turnout for our family fun event with lots of activities happening in each class and den building in the hall. We enjoyed eating lunch in the fantastic dens we built.
The pupils in P1-5 got to play New Age Kurling and the pupils in P6 and 7 were cooking with Colin from Lochside.
We finished off the week with a silent disco and laser tag.
To celebrate the start of the World Cup we also got to wear a football strip of a country taking part in the competition.

To celebrate the World Cup, pupils are encouraged to come to school wearing something blue, something tartan, a Scotland football or rugby top or dressed down in casual clothes tomorrow, Friday 12th.

It’s not only the pupils at Catrine PS who are happy and healthy – so are the staff!
Well done to Mrs McCaig in P7 who recently completed the Edinburgh Marathon! Along with her friend, Kathryn, Mrs McCaig completed the course in a great time on a very warm May day.
We’re also very proud of Mrs Cook in P7 who completed the 10K Roon the Toon Race in Kilmarnock last Sunday, in a new personal best time.
What a great example they are setting to our pupils!
Our Family Fun/Den Building day is tomorrow, Thursday 11th June.
The weather forecast is for rain, so it has been decided to go with plan B.
Our activities will be in the school.
You can still bring along den building items, and our Big Picnic will still go ahead. Please bring along a picnic blanket to sit on.
We hope you can still join us for another fantastic family event.
Applications will open on Tuesday 16 June for the early years footwear and clothing grant for academic year 2026/27 for parents/guardians of children due to access a place from the start of the new term in August 2026 (children whose date of birth is between 1 March 2022 and 31 August 2023 and any children accessing an additional year of early learning and childcare if they meet the eligibility criteria).
Applications will remain open until 4pm on Friday 10 July. Anyone missing the deadline will not be able to apply until the applications re-open in January 2027.
Payment of the grant will be made on 27 July 2026.
