Staffing update for next session

I am delighted to inform our new Primary 3 pupils and parents that their teacher, starting in August 2024, is Mrs Withers.

Mrs Withers is currently teaching at Bellsbank PS and we look forward to welcoming her to Catrine PS in August.

She was in school today for a wee visit and spent some time with her new class, and can’t wait to get started! 🙂

Ten pupils art work was selected and the chosen piece that will be sharing the front cover of the NHS Spiritual Care Framework for Ayrshire and Arran leaflet was Coral.

All art work chosen will be displayed at Crosshouse Hospital from October.

P6 Big Sleepover

On Friday 14th June, our P6 pupils had their Big Sleepover.  They camped in the school grounds (well, on this occasion, due to the horrible wet weather, they slept in the school hall!), roasted marshmallows over a campfire in the playground and played an awesome game of staff/parents v pupils Rounders (which the adults won, of course).

Mrs Ferguson and Mrs Govans were the lucky staff who stayed all night, with Miss Burleigh, Mrs Campbell, Miss Brown and Mrs Schendel joining us for the team games and campfire.

Thanks to all the parents who joined in, thanks to Carolyn McFarlane at EAC LOST for organising it and special thanks to our P6 pupils for being awesome!  It was a brilliant night of giggles, midnight snacks, PJs in the school hall and very little sleep … 🙂

Sports Day planned for Tuesday 18th June

Sports Day – Tuesday 18th June

We’re good to go for our rescheduled Sports Day tomorrow!

Races will kick off at 10.30am at Riverside Park, Catrine.

Pupils should come to school wearing a tshirt/top in their house colour, if possible, leggings/trackies and trainers, and a jacket.

All pupils will be given a bottle of water at the park thanks to Catrine Amateurs FC.

See you there!

SPORTS DAY RESCHEDULED

Sports Day Update – The weather isn’t looking too promising for tomorrow so we’re making the decision to cancel our Sports Day scheduled for Friday 14th June, and we’re rescheduling for TUESDAY 18th JUNE instead, at 10.30am at Riverside Park.

Next Tuesday looks to be the driest day forecast for next week but if it’s still wet on Tuesday, however, we’ll have to run our races in the school hall but unfortunately that means we can’t have spectators.

We can organise everything but the weather so fingers crossed for a dry day on Tuesday!

Please note that your child can still wear sports clothes tomorrow, and if they have a Scotland football top, they can wear this to show their support before Friday’s big game. No club colours please.

June Home Circles @ 12.06.24

In our Home Circles on Wednesday we all focused on another article from the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child.

Article 29 states that ‘education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full. It must encourage the child’s respect for human rights, as well as respect for their parents, their own and other cultures, and the environment’.

In our Home Circles we had big questions to answer …

It’s Health Week at Catrine Primary School and ECC.

What changes would make Catrine PS a healthier school?

What changes would make Catrine a healthier village?

Take a look at our answers below.
