Parents/carers of P7s that are going on the Dolphin House residential trip in January:
There are a few permission forms still to be returned and a few payments to be made for the trip and bus.
Can you please ensure that the forms are returned and payments made by Friday 22nd December?
Thank you
Well done to this week’s winners for being excellent pupils in our dinner hall.
In our December Home Circles we highlighted Article 17 of the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child which states that every child has the right to reliable information from a range of sources, and governments should encourage the media to provide information that children can understand. Governments must help protect children from materials that could harm them.
Our questions were –
How do you find out what is happening in your community and in the world? What kinds of social media do you use?
Why is it important that there are rules about using social media sites?
Take a look through our answers in our Home Circle jotters …

Well done to this week’s winners for being excellent pupils in our dinner hall.
This week we had a discussion about what Catrine Primary has and does to make us an inclusive school.
The boy and girls brain stormed some ideas that they could think of and we added to these through a whole group discussion.
We then went on to create posters in our small groups which will be displayed on our wall. The members of the committee have requested that we make a power point to present at assembly.
At our last committee group we were learning all about Article 27. Article 27 is about having the right to a proper house, food and clothing.
We then looked at our needs and our wants. We discussed and designed two houses, one to show the things that we need such as electricity, water, a safe house with a roof, a bed, clothes, toilet, something to make food on and someone to help look after us.
After that we designed our second house and this had the different things that we might want in our house but aren’t essential. This included things like a tv, Switch, toys, a pool, dog, flowers, Netflix and PS5.
Our STEM committee have been hard at work trying to promote STEM learning across the whole school.
This week our STEM committee were able to think like engineers and built Mr Wonka’s factory.
The pupils were able to evaluate their designs and discuss their strengths and areas for improvement.
Thank you Maureen and Dino, we appreciate your kind donation to the pupils and staff at Catrine Primary School.
