What a fantastic day we had on trip yesterday!
Poppy wrote a super recount which shows what we got up to and I think the photos show just how much fun we had.

This week in P3 we have been learning all about halves in maths. We have been identifying the quantity and discovering where halves sit on a number line.
Some of us had fun setting up a shop. We worked out the cost of half an item.
We finished reading the rest of our class novel ‘The Enormous Crocodile’ and had fun painting some of the characters.
Have a great weekend!

Spelling
All the pupils have their spelling words in their jotter.
The children have been given a sheet with some examples of spelling activities they could do this week. Choose two (or more!) activities to do throughout the week.
Maths
The school is very excited to be working with the National Numeracy charity this year. We are so lucky that they have given all the children in the school a scrapbook in which to do their maths homework.
This week’s activity is in the scrapbook. You can complete the activity in any way you want. You might want to draw pictures, write calculations, make models or take photographs (which can be emailed to the class teacher).
We would encourage you and your child to write a comment on the sheet to let us know how you got on. Did you enjoy doing the activity together and why? Did you find anything tricky? Was there something that your child did or said that really impressed you?
Miss Murdoch will be your child’s class teacher this week. You can email her or Mrs Schendel with any enquiries or any photos you want to send.

Have a fun week and remember all homework should be handed back for Friday.
Mrs Schendel
Mrs Schendel has been our teacher on Thursday and Friday this week.
We have been reading Cat in the Cat and wrote our own stories about our own Cats in Hats and the mischief they got up to.
We have been learning about the Number Talk strategy of Adding up in Chunks.
The children have decided they want to decorate the classroom for Halloween so are working together to create some decorations.
