Friday Round up

Good Afternoon everyone, I hope you have all had a great week!

This week P3 have continued to focus on fractions in numeracy. They have been working very hard exploring halves and quarters on a numberline and what they look like as an array/pictorial. The class also created a pizza shop where they could order their fractioned pizzas.

In literacy this week we have finished our Class Novel – The Enormous Crocodile by Roald Dahl. Pupils worked as a team through the week to create a new trap for the crocodile and they did a fantastic job at using our blocks that we have in class.

Our VIP’s this week have been Maddisen, Tristan, Sophie, Finlay    and Kayla. I hope you have all enjoyed being our VIP!

Thank you for those that have brought homework back this week, next week there wont be any homework posted as it is our last week of term.

Have a lovely weekend and I will see you all next week for our last week of term 3! Time flies when you are having fun 🙂

Friday round up

Hello Everyone!

I hope you all have had a great week!

In literacy this week we have been focusing on the planning stage of writing our non chronological reports. We have almost finished our class novel The Enormous Crocodile 🐊 by Ronald Dahl and P3 have been creating some posters to keep us aware of the crocodile. We have also been looking at describing words and why we would use them. The class then created a lovely piece of work describing their favourite character from the book!

We have explored International Women’s Day and female characters that, in their own way, were brave and made a difference in their story. We had some interesting discussions and we all tried to listen to what each other thought of our characters.

In numeracy this week, we have been focusing on halves and what it represents on a number line as a pictorial and how it links to our division strategies of sharing equally. P3 have worked very hard this week – well done!

Our VIPs this week have been Harry, Conlan, Luna, Poppy and Mikey! I hope you all enjoyed being our VIPs  and keep being you 🙂

Have a lovely weekend!

Friday Round-up

This week in P3 we have been learning all about halves in maths. We have been identifying the quantity and discovering where halves sit on a number line.

Some of us had fun setting up a shop. We worked out the cost of half an item.

We finished reading the rest of our class novel ‘The Enormous Crocodile’ and had fun painting some of the characters.

Have a great weekend!

Fri-yay Round Up

Hello Everyone!

I hope you have all had a great week, P3 have been busy learning lots of new things in numeracy and literacy.

World book day was on Thursday this week and P3 celebrated the 25th anniversary by exploring our books in a different enviroment. Some pupils chose to read to their friends in our outdoor reading nooks and some chose to try and build a large outdoor classroom for everyone to enjoy reading. We also built a giant marble run which came from reading one of the guiness world records books which also inspired great team work.

In numeracy we have been finishing off our multiplication and division topic so that we can begin to explore fractions next week. Miss Murdoch has been working on money with P3 and going by her previous post it looked so much fun and there have been great life skills brought out from exploring the world of money.

We have been continuing our Catrine Compliments this week and our VIPs have been  Alfie, Hailey, Cole, Lucie and Steven. I hope all of our VIPs have enjoyed their treats and compliments on their day!

Have a great weekend, here’s hoping the weather stays dry and a little sunnier!

The pupils have been learning to show the value of coins using Numicon and have also practised writing amounts using decimal notation.

The pupils then created some amazing shops where pupils could pay for items using cash and card!
