Simple ……. no explanation needed, simply mail a hug to a loved one. Can you imagine their face when the post gets delivered, they open their envelope and they pull out your hug 🙂
I miss you when you’re far away,
I’d love to see you every day.
But since I can’t come over to play,
I’m mailing you a hug today!
So although it may be quite a sight 🙂
Wrap my arms around you tight.
Repeat this daily to keep your smile bright
Until we get to reunite!

Great pictures everyone 🙂
It’s the last day before we should have been finishing up for the Easter holidays so see below for your last daily suggested planner from the ECC for a few weeks.
However ……. don’t worry, with Easter plans all cancelled and isolation still a requirement, we will still provide a programme of Easter activities for you to access if you choose to.
Have a great Easter and enjoy the time with your family.

One of our favourite games! Who doesn’t like a game of I Spy??? And what’s more, the educational benefits are tremendous! Initial sounds is a skill which can take a while to grasp with some children so it’s a great wee activity to do that’s easy no matter where you are.
Starting off it’s best to have items in front of your child that they can see
e.g. an apple
a car
a pencil
a ball
a doll
(you get the idea)
You then begin, “I spy with my little eye, something beginning with PI” (for P) remember to use the sounds that the letters make and not the letter names.
When your child begins to get the hang of 5 or 6 items on the table in front of them you could try this super tricky challenge sheet. And once they have mastered this they are ready to play anywhere.
Challenge – try turning it around to see if your child can take a turn, asking YOU if you can find things using their initial sound clues.
For some finding eye spy using initial sounds a little tricky – why not start with COLOUR I SPY. Again set up the same only with coloured items OR you can use the checklist below and it can be a look and find activity. You can use it to match, or to give clues, colour, shape, size, where you might find one, pattern etc. Lots of possibilities.
Have fun 🙂
Logan has been super busy! He has been helping to plant seeds – I wonder what they will turn into – we cannot wait to see how they change over time Logan. Keep us updated 🙂
Great job Poppy – developing her counting and writing skills.
Keep your work coming in everybody. It’s lovely to see you all.
The staff are missing you loads.
SECRET MISSION ALERT – Ssssshhhhhh
So my idea for today’s task came from my 4year old’s drawing yesterday.
There is so much change in our little one’s lives just now but in their eyes they are probably loving it. To them, for most, their house is just how they like it these days with parent(s)/carers having more time to play with them, fun home schooling activities going on for older siblings and thankfully the weather has been good to enjoy walks and out in the garden. Their house is their safe place.
Encourage your child to draw a picture of their house and who lives in it with them.
Capture moments like these when you can and hold onto the positives that come with the negatives.
The long red bit are our stairs, the squares are the cushions on our couches she tell me. Up the top is “Mum, dad, Cole and me all playing in my room.”

We want to help and support the best that we can during this time and so we are open to honest answers and we aim to use your feedback to make positive changes and improvements for next week.
Remember nothing that we post is required to be carried out, its simply ideas for families to dip in and out of if you are finding the days long.
