Scots Poetry and Ceilidh Event

A date has been set for the performance involving the whole school in the life and culture of Scotland. On Monday 6th February 2012 the Pupil Council and Head Teacher, Mrs. MacKinnon will be judging the individual recitals for awards relating to pronunciation, clarity and presentation. Then following on from this the whole school will join together for a dance, song and poetry extravaganza! Pupils in Primary 7 have been leading the way instructing the younger classes in traditional Scottish dances; including Pr.4 Galopede, Pr.5 Cumberland Square Eight and Pr.6 Bridge of Athlone along with other more suitable dances for Pr.1 – 3. These dance performances will be presented in between whole class recitals of poems in Scots and more traditionally Burns. This event will also include a traditional Scots Fayre of haggis, neeps and tatties prepared by Beth Arthur and her Onsite Catering Staff.
