🏃‍♀️🌟 P7 Play Leaders – Learning to Lead! 🌟🏃‍♂️

Our P7 pupils have been developing their leadership skills with Alison Murray from Active Schools, and they have now completed the second week of their Play Leader sessions. ❤️

These sessions are helping our P7s learn how to plan, organise and lead fun activities for younger pupils, while developing lots of important skills along the way.

This week, their challenge was to work together to design obstacle courses for our P1–P4 pupils. They had to think carefully about the age of the children who would be taking part and make their courses challenging enough to be exciting, but not so difficult that younger pupils couldn’t enjoy or complete them. 🏃‍♀️🧗‍♂️⚽

They did a fantastic job! 🌟 The groups came up with fun and creative ideas, worked together really well and listened to one another’s suggestions. They also had to think about organisation, safety, communication and how they would explain their activities clearly to younger children.

Across their first two sessions, our P7s are already developing some brilliant skills that will help them become confident and responsible Play Leaders. They are learning that good leadership isn’t simply about being in charge – it involves listening to others, working as a team, encouraging people, adapting ideas and making sure everyone can join in and have fun. ❤️

We are really looking forward to seeing them put these skills into practice as they continue their Play Leader training!

👏 Well done to all of our P7s for such a positive start to their first two sessions, and a huge thank you to Alison Murray and Active Schools for giving our pupils this fantastic opportunity to develop their confidence and leadership skills.
