⛪🌊 P7 Pilgrimage to St Ninian’s Cave 🌊⛪
Our P7 pupils recently enjoyed a very special day as they travelled to Whithorn for the annual St Ninian’s Cave Pilgrimage.
This pilgrimage brings together Primary 7 pupils from the Catholic schools across Dumfries and Galloway, including St Joseph’s, St Teresa’s, St Andrew’s and St Columba’s. It was wonderful to meet with pupils from other schools to share in this important faith experience.
We were incredibly fortunate with the weather, enjoying a beautiful, sunny and very warm day from start to finish! ☀️
The day began with a lovely walk down to the beach, where we joined together for Mass. It was a meaningful and reflective celebration, and we were especially proud of Ross and Myra, who confidently read the bidding prayers. It was also lovely to have Father Ben with us throughout the day.
After Mass, there was time to enjoy the beach and make the most of the sunshine. Pupils had great fun playing on the sand, paddling in the sea and, in some cases, accidentally ending up a little wetter than planned! 🌊😄
We then continued our pilgrimage walk to St Ninian’s Cave, taking time to appreciate the beautiful surroundings and the significance of this important place in Scotland’s Christian heritage. As always, we stopped for our annual P7 photograph on the rocks beside the cave, creating another special memory of their final year at St Joseph’s.
The day was a wonderful combination of faith, friendship and fun. Our pupils represented the school beautifully throughout, showing respect, enthusiasm and excellent behaviour. We are very proud of them all.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising the pilgrimage and helping to make it such a memorable experience. It was a truly special day that our P7s will remember for years to come. 💙
