⭐ Building Meta-skills for Life in P5–7 🌍

This week, our P5–7 class spent a focused and reflective afternoon working on their Meta-skills booklets alongside activities from My World of Work, helping them explore important life skills and begin working towards their Bronze, Silver and Gold Meta-skills Certificates.

Meta-skills are the skills that help us succeed not only in school, but in life. Through discussions, reflection tasks and practical activities, pupils explored the twelve key Meta-skills:

✨ Focusing
✨ Integrity
✨ Adapting
✨ Initiative
✨ Communicating
✨ Feeling
✨ Collaborating
✨ Leading
✨ Curiosity
✨ Sense-making
✨ Creativity
✨ Critical thinking

Pupils discussed how everyone has different strengths and that nobody is expected to be perfect at everything. Instead, they reflected on what they are already good at, where their strengths lie, and which skills they would like to continue developing. It was fantastic to see pupils showing honesty, self-awareness and maturity as they thought carefully about their own learning and personal growth.

Using the My World of Work resources helped pupils make connections between these Meta-skills and real-life situations, future careers and everyday challenges. They began to recognise how skills like teamwork, communication and resilience can support them both now and in the future.

The class showed great engagement and thoughtful participation throughout the afternoon, and we look forward to continuing this journey as they work towards achieving their Gold Meta-skills Certificates ⭐
