π P5β7 Rugby Begins β First Session Fun! π
Today, Thursday 5th February, we kicked off our very first Primary 5β7 rugby session, and what a fantastic start it was! π
Although our Primary 7 pupils were unable to join us today as they were at the academy for their walkthrough, our Primary 5 and Primary 6 pupils headed outside full of enthusiasm and ready to get started – even with the cold and windy weather! βοΈπ¨
It didnβt take long for everyone to warm up. The session began with a range of energetic games designed to build teamwork, coordination, and confidence. Pupils especially enjoyed activities like Banana Tag, Switch, and Capture the Flag, which kept everyone moving and working together. πββοΈ
The focus of the session was getting used to holding the rugby ball, running with control, and practising tagging games that helped develop awareness and teamwork. There was lots of laughter, great effort, and fantastic participation throughout, with pupils showing resilience and determination despite the chilly conditions.
Next week, the group will begin exploring some contact rugby skills, so please remember to bring a change of clothes and come prepared! π
It was a brilliant first session, and weβre really looking forward to seeing skills and confidence grow over the coming weeks. Well done, everyone! β¨
