🏸 P5–7 Badminton Block Comes to an End – Huge Thanks to Alison!
This week we enjoyed our final P5–7 badminton session with Alison Murray from Active Schools, and what a brilliant block it has been!
When we first started a few weeks ago, many of the pupils were still figuring out how to even hit the shuttlecock and now they’re confidently serving, rallying and playing full mini games! The progress has been incredible to watch, and every single pupil has improved so much from week to week.
Alison has kept every session fun and fast-paced, with a brilliant mix of skill activities, challenges and mini matches. One of the children’s absolute favourites was the exciting end-game “Jail”, where each player takes turns serving – they must get the shuttle over the net without one of the players already “in jail” catching it. If the shuttle doesn’t go over, or someone in jail catches it, the server joins the jail! Then the next player steps up to take their turn. Simple rules, big cheers!
We finished today on a high with our final Jail Champion – well done to Gregor!
A massive thank you to Alison for all her enthusiasm and encouragement. The children have absolutely loved their Wednesday afternoons and we’re so grateful for the opportunity.
🥳 Good news – more after school badminton sessions will be available through Active Schools, so keep an eye out for the sign-up links coming soon!
Well done, everyone – future badminton stars in the making! 🏸✨
