Celebrating Ava’s Swimming Success!
We are very proud to share the achievements of Ava, who recently competed in the North Ayrshire Development Meet with the Stranraer Stingrays Swimming Club.
Competing in the 9 and under category, Ava showed determination, perseverance, and skill in every race. Her results were outstanding:
- 🥇 100m Individual Medley – 1st place, 1:48.23 (Personal Best of 9.85s)
- 🥈 100m Freestyle – 2nd place, 1:36.21 (PB of 3.48s)
- 🥈 100m Backstroke – 2nd place, 1:50.41 (PB of 5.66s)
- 🥈 50m Breaststroke – 2nd place, 56.16 (+0.10s)
- 6th place 50m Backstroke – 52.08 (PB of -0.62s)
- 🏅 100m Breaststroke – “Too Fast” award, 1:59.64 (+1.56s)
- 8th place 50m Freestyle – 46.37 (+1.20s)
That’s four new personal bests, one gold medal, three silver medals, a top-six finish, and her very first ‘Too Fast’ keyring – a fantastic accomplishment!
Ava’s success is a brilliant example of how learning extends beyond the classroom. Through swimming, she is developing key skills such as resilience, self-motivation, and goal-setting, all of which are central to the Curriculum for Excellence and to opportunities for personal achievement.
We would like to say a big thank you to Emma and Clare, her Stingray coaches, and to Miss Lisi, her mum, for making sure Ava makes it to those all-important practices and competitions.
Everyone at St. Joseph’s Primary is so proud of you, Ava – well done! 🌟
