P6–7 Watersports Morning at Loch Ryan
Our Primary 6 and 7 pupils had an unforgettable morning out on Loch Ryan, joining Portpatrick Primary’s P7 class for an exciting watersports session with Stranraer Water Sports Association (SWSA). 🌊🛶⛵
Even though the skies were grey and the rain came and went, that didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. The pupils took part in two brilliant activities and gave both their all!
We continue to provide wider achievement experiences for our children.
🛶 Kayaking Fun
In pairs, the children set off in double kayaks and played a fun tennis ball game while paddling. They had to pass the ball across the water without dropping it, all while keeping their balance. There were loads of laughs, great teamwork and fantastic coordination. Everyone took part and had an absolute blast!
⛵ Sailing Adventure
Each group also had a go at sailing small single-sail boats. They helped launch the boats into the loch before heading out across the water with an instructor. Some glided smoothly while others had a more exciting ride! Myra, Thorin and Ross’s boat capsized, but they handled it brilliantly. A special shout-out to Thorin for staying so calm and focused the whole time!
Afterwards, the whole group had the chance to splash about and play in the sea together. Rain or not, the smiles said it all, it was a morning filled with energy, fun and adventure.
A huge thank you to the amazing instructors at SWSA for looking after us so well and giving the children such a great experience. 🙌 And an extra big thank you to Mrs T. Hilferty for helping run the children back and forth between the activities and making sure the morning flowed smoothly. 😊
We’re so proud of everyone who took part – what a brilliant experience!
