🌟 P5-7 RERC Lesson: Jesus, Women, and Equality – A Blend of Digital Learning and Drama! 🌟

In the lead-up to International Women’s Day, our P5-7 class explored an important story from the Bible – The Woman at the Well. This story helped us reflect on how Jesus valued and treated everyone as equals, even when society at the time did not. The pupils were fascinated to learn that, in a time when women were often overlooked, Jesus made no distinction. He spoke to the woman at the well with kindness and respect, reminding us all that everyone is equal in the eyes of God.

To make this lesson even more engaging, we mixed drama and digital learning! After hearing the story, the pupils got into groups for an exciting role-play activity. Each group took turns playing the roles of:
🎀 A reporter asking important questions
πŸ’¬ The woman at the well sharing her feelings
πŸ‘€ An onlooker giving their views on what had happened

We used our new recording microphones, and the pupils absolutely loved getting the chance to record their interviews! Questions like:

  • “How did you feel when Jesus spoke to you and treated you with respect?”
  • “What do you think Jesus wanted to teach by telling this story?”

The pupils were thoughtful in their answers and showed a great understanding of Jesus’ message of equality and love. Watching them express their learning through drama and digital media was fantastic – there were lots of laughs, brilliant performances, and some deep reflections too.

πŸ’‘ The microphones were definitely a hit! The children loved playing the role of reporters and hearing their own voices as they shared insights from the perspective of the characters.

This lesson was a wonderful way for the pupils to combine faith, creativity, and technology, helping them understand an important message just in time for International Women’s Day. ⭐
