As part of our IDL this term of global citizenship. We were tasked with creating a den using materials we could find in the playground. We done this because October 10th was world homeless day.

On Thursday 5th October Primary 7 went to DGOne for Operation Safety. We took a bus to Operation Safety. When we were there we got split into groups so we could do our activities.
When we were working with Scottish Power they taught us how many volts travel through power lines. We carried out an experiment to see if electricity could travel through our bodies. They taught us how to be safe around electricity.
The fire brigade helped us with fire safety and water safety. We learned how to keep ourselves safe around fireworks. We played a game to see what was safe to put on a bonfire. At water safety they showed us how to help someone who was drowning while keeping ourselves safe.
The paramedics taught us the recovery position and how to check ABC. A stands for airways B stands for breathing and C stands for circulation or pulse. They also showed us how to find our pulse.
Youth work taught us about the dangers of vaping and smoking. We had to draw a hand and share things that were important to us.
The police talked to us about social media and the age requirements for different apps. We made a TikTok advising people about the dangers of social media.
We thought Operation Safety was fun and interesting.
As part of our skills academy block this term where we looked at the solar system. We created paper rockets in class and had a competition to see which rocket could fly the furthest distance.
