Well done to P1 for completing their first term in school! Keep up the hard work and positive attitudes.

P4-7 Learning Shape Through Play

P4-7 have had a blast learning all about 3D shapes through play. They are able to identify all of the different 3D shapes and can confidently talk about their properties- faces, vertices and edges.  Cameron and Freya have also been using the polydron to create 3D shape nets.

Tongue Twister Championships 😛

The Tongue Twisting Championship have made a much anticipated come back. P4-7 are eager to improve their pronunciation, fluency and accuracy when reading aloud and agree that this is the perfect way to achieve this while having fun at the same time!

Why not have your own championship at home…the idea is simple but the challenge certainly isn’t. It takes patience and skill- whoever can read the entire list of tongue twisters with no errors and in the quickest time is the winner!

Good luck! 👑 ⏳

Shannon’s score of 35 seconds still goes unbeaten.

Reading Challenge 📚 📖 📕

Good luck and happy reading!

For now the reading passports will stay in class to allow the children to get used to completing the pages. Once the October holiday arrive the children will keep the passports in their reading folders so they can complete book reviews at home and over the holidays.

The Perfect Pigsty for a Piglet! 🐷 🐖 🐽

P4-7 have been busy using their design skills to create the perfect pigsty for our book study character Wilbur. Each sty is completely unique with a range of really interesting design features.

“It is not a pigsty is it Wilbur’s playhouse. I like it because it has climbing parts to help him climb over the cinnamon and he can smell the trees because they are made from cinnamon too, ” said Conor.

“I like my pigsty because Wilbur has his friend like the cow to play with. Then he has places to play in and things like the cinnamon stick to smell. Also he has places to drink, sleep and eat,” said Freya.

“I think my pigsty is really fun for Wilbur because it has lots of stones and things for him to hide in and play with,” said Blake.

“I think my pigsty is really  nice because it has lots of  sections for him to eat, drink, play and talk to Charlotte. He can look at the statue of him and there is a place for him to sleep, ” said Sinead.

“I think my pigsty is good because he has a lot of places to go and he has got places to eat, hide, sleep and drink, ” said Cameron.

If you were a sweet and humble piglet which sty would you choose to spend the night in?

If you look closely you might even spot Charlotte! 🕷
