Hallowe’en at Collin Primary 🎃👻
Safer Cycling to School Week
Lets Go Zero
At Collin Primary we are taking actions to cut our carbon in the following areas, or are planning on doing so in the next year:
Energy use: such as running ‘switch off campaigns’ with staff and pupils.
Food: serving food grown locally or on-site, or working with pupils’ families.
Procurement: such as sourcing goods or services locally, or cutting stationery use.
School grounds: such as planting trees locally or on-site, running biodiversity projects, or cooling through vegetation.
Travel: such as joining schemes and programmes to encourage cycling, scooting and walking.
Waste: such as sorting waste or composting on-site, or helping families cut waste at home.
Water: such as installing water butts.
Other: such as taking part in EcoSchools and WWF schemes, or promoting sustainability through teaching resources.
Our Eco Committee will keep you up to date as we work towards our carbon zero status. If you have any ideas of think you could help ( from a social distance ! ) let us know
Welcome back !
A warm welcome back to all our families and friends of Collin Primary school and Nursery.
I hope you have all managed to enjoy the October break. It is lovey to see the children back in such good spirits and looking forward to Term two. We kick off this term with our Halloween Celebration on Friday 30th. Children are welcome to come in fancy dress. For health and safety reasons during this current climate we ask that children do not bring accessories such as masks, hats, wands etc. If you wish to show off your homemade Halloween decorations this year, please email your pictures into the office and we will post them on the school website.
The autumnal weather is now upon us. Due to covid restrictions P.E is still outdoors. Please provide your child with warm clothing suitable for P.E as we aim to have the children outside when possible.
This term Miss Patterson and P1-4 will be studying” Under the sea ” and Mrs Mullen and P4-7 will be exploring “World War 2”. As we are still unable to invite families into the school we will be posting pupils’ work on the school blog… watch this space !
