Barony Farm Fun

Primary 3 have been studying Scottish Food and Farming.  As part of this topic we visited the Barony Farm.  It really brought our learning to life as we could get a much better idea of the journey milk takes from farm to our fridge.  Mr Wardrop and Mrs Jamieson were super guides and answered all our questions.

Next time you see one of us please ask us a question (even a tricky one!) to test our knowledge.

Nursery Active Schools Street Dance – Afternoon Session

Mairia from Active Schools has been coming into Nursery to teach the children some street dance! The children thoroughly enjoy these sessions. We have a 4 week block, ending on Thursday the 26th of November. Parents/carers are invited to stay for 10 minutes or so after dropping their child off, to see the children perform their street dance routine on the 26th, if they can make it. Above is a wee taster as to what you will see on the day!

Primary 5/6 Celebration of Learning

P5/6 thoroughly enjoyed showing off their knowledge at their Celebration of Learning on Thursday afternoon.

They started the afternoon retelling a chapter of the novel Peter Pan, using their shadow puppet theatres.  Then they presented power points that they had compiled, documenting their J.M Barrie Walk. The whole class then recited the poem “My Shadow” by Robert Louis Stevenson.

Back in the classroom, there were challenges galore!  The children loved testing their parents on the Multiplication Challenge table, some even made it into the 50’s Club!

Mrs Jones was the winner of the Peter Pan Quiz, which was compiled by the children – Congratulations!

We all enjoyed participating in the Tinkerbell art activity, and the adults were very responsible and didn’t get too messy!

Jack, our resident photographer for the day, managed to capture a few of the activities that we all took part in.

Active Schools P4

S6 students from St Joseph’s College have been working with Active Schools to take responsibility for the planning and organising of activities to help with fitness. We were invited across to use their gym hall and take part in the activities they have organised. We had lots of fun and the S6 students organised really fun games and activities for us to try. We are going for the next 4 weeks, we are excited to see what other activities they have organised for us.

Hallowe’en Fun Friday

On Friday St Andrew’s had a bit of a spooky feel as all children got in to the ‘spirit’ of things for their Hallowe’en Parties.

The children’s costumes were amazing and they all had great fun playing games such as Hallowe’en corners and spooky statues.

Thank you once again to all involved in organising this Spooktacular Event!

Have a look at some of the fun we had in the photos below:

The Autumn sun was shining on Tuesday afternoon when Primary 1 accompanied the Nursery children on a Halloween Leaf Hunt, as part of our Transition programme.

Our mission was to find the right kind of leaves to make Halloween Ghosts with. Ethan and Ryan think they’ve found a good place to begin the hunt!IMG_2146[1]
