Speech Making Success

St. Andrew’s Primary has once again enjoyed success in the Primary Schools Speech Making Competition for Dumfries. With four of our pupils reaching the semi-final stage against six other schools, and two pupils making it to the final, our school was proudly represented. Hannah, Jagna, Mia and Maya made sure we were entertained on both evenings. Jagna and Maya made it to the final with Maya taking overall victory. Trophies were presented to all finalists with Maya also winning a shield for our school as winner.

Well done to all!

This week’s Dumfries and Galloway Standard has a good article covering the results of the competition.

Education Scotland Visit

We were visited by Education Scotland a couple of weeks ago. Their visit was in response to work done by our present primary seven class before the summer holidays about  WW1 and remembering those in our community who had taken part. It was seen as example of good practice in how to engage the children within their cluster learning environment. We thank everyone involved with project, including the history and IT departments at St. Joseph’s.The children were commended for their work and their ability to talk to Education Scotland about why and how they thought the work was important and enjoyable.
