St. Andrew’s Day

The 30th of November is Saint Andrew’s Day. As Saint Andrew is patron saint of both our school and country we like to celebrate in some style. This year, we start with a school Mass then go on to a choice of activities before finishing the day with a magic show from Magic Monty.

Lenten SCIAF Appeal Thanks

SCIAF 2016bThanks to everyone who has contributed to the Wee Box appeal this year. Our collection of 1ps, 2ps, etc has helped us to achieve a total of over £400. This will be match funded by the government so that SCIAF’s appeal for the people of southern Ethiopia will receive aid from St. Andrew’s Primary School equivalent to over £800.

Pupil Council members Molly, Callum and Jessica said, “We feel good about what we have achieved and hope that it makes some difference to people’s lives in Ethiopia.

Thanks go to our Pupil Council for helping to put some of what was collected into the SCIAF logo. We thought it would make a good photo opportunity.

St. Andrew- Our Celebrations

We had a great day to celebrate our patron saint, Saint Andrew. Fr. David kindly celebrated Mass with us first thing in the morning. At Mass he presented the school with a new ciborium and two new chalices from The Holy Land.

Later we enjoyed a variety of activities run by a variety of staff.
Thanks to those who made the day special including our Parent Council who made popcorn available to all.

St. Andrew’s Day- School Celebrations

As we are on holiday on St. Andrew’s Day (30th), we will be holding celebrations in school on Wednesday the 26th of November. We will begin, first thing with mass and will follow this with a variety of activities that our children can choose from during the course of the day. This will be the last day of the school week for our children as they have a two day holiday on Thursday and Friday. They return next Monday as normal.
