Sports Day Winners

Congratulations to all pupils who competed with big smiles and great sportsmanship on our recent Sports Day.  It was lovely to have the sun shining and have so many family supporters there to cheer us along.

Thank  you to the St Joseph’s pupils who helped on the day and to Primary 5 who organised a brilliant potted sports for P1-4 in the afternoon.

A huge congratulations to St Bernadette (Green Team) who came out over all winners on the day.

Special Assembly

Today we welcomed visitors from our parish  and the Educate the Kids charity. Primary  4 have been finding out all about this charity and raised money for them. The assembly gave the children the chance to present a cheque for £150 from all their fundraising efforts. They even baked scones to share with our visitors!

World Book Day

Yesterday we celebrated World Book Day.  Our theme was the colours of the rainbow and children (and teachers) were invited to come in dressed as a colour of the rainbow and bring in a related book.  This meant we had a very colourful day and even managed to get a whole school rainbow photo in the hall.

The library is currently getting a revamp and Mrs Kerr had the brilliant idea of getting each child to create their own ‘book’ from cereal boxes.  I am sure you will agree the results look amazing!

We also had class visits from the Scottish Book Trust Co-ordinator and she will be visiting other classes over the next few weeks.

Here are a few photos of what we got up to:

Jigs and Reels Festival

On Friday 3rd February Primary 3, 4 & 5 headed over to St Joseph’s College to take part in a Jigs and Reels Festival with other schools from our region.  The children have been practising several dances over the last month and it was a lovely opportunity to celebrate the children’s success.

The class teachers were all very proud of the children, their super efforts and  huge smiles!
