Speech Making Success

Once again our school has performed extremely well in the Dumfries Rotary Club annual speech making completion for schools. Four of the nine finalists came from St. Andrew’s after qualifying in the previous round. Last night saw the final taking place once again, with St. Andrew’s pupils taking first and second place. All who took part demonstrated a confidence in front of a large audience that was commendable. Their passion for the subject matter- ‘the future of our planet’- gave hope to us all. Well done to George, Maya, Sophia and Caleb

This week’s Standard has some nice coverage of our garden project work with the students and staff of Tennessee Tech. Our new American friends have been helping us with new raised beds, bug hotels and composters as well as giving advice about how food production and appreciation might play a more important part in our curriculum for all.
