Holywood Hullabaloo

in primary 5to7 we have ben learning about forces in are topic. We finally got big Thursday back it is awesome we got a new helper called miss jading. The things we do is computer science, out dour learning, p.e., and art. In maths we have a time table. It is we started at games then sumdog and miss s.

We started with art, Miss Jardine was our new Teacher. We made sculptures out of card.

Then we were at computer science with Miss Stapelton.

After lunch we done PE with Miss Brockie-Donald.

Finally, we did outdoor skills with Miss McIntyre.

Larssons favourite was PE

My favourite was coding on the computer.

this weeks learning at holywood  was fun because we where doing friction , force , push and pull . we have been doing this topic for a week now and today me and Dakota got put in the same group because its called twist and we can do gymnastic twists !! we are really excited !

math : me and Dakota really enjoy doing maths because we are in the same group and we are also doing maths sheet which Dakota said that’s her favourite my favourite is the new maths games , in the game there is a board for each player then you pick up the card and there should be units , tens , hundred and thousands on the cards so you have to read it and that’s the game !!!

business groups : Dakota was off on the day that we got put in business groups but I am in kiva group and I hope Dakotas in our group . my group has Lewis and molly in our group. kiva group is for to help unhappy people and to help learning increase.

last Thursday we did our first big Thursday for this term yea first we did art with miss  jarden and it is so good to have big Thursdays back and I enjoy it and then we did computing science with miss s and that was one of the best or the best and we where messing about with the app thing and then we done P.E with  Miss brokiedonald and we did gymnastics and it was ok me and Paul was good at balancing and lastly we did outdoor learning which was the seconded best computing science was the best so far art was third  and PE  was last

Big Thursday is back on the timetable at Holywood and it is one of our favourite days of the week.

On a Big Thursday our four teachers each teach one curricular area to all the pupils in school.

This term Miss Stapleton is teaching Computer Science – this is new on the Big Thursday subject list. Think of the coding and digital literacy skills pupils will have by the end of the year!

Miss Brockie- Donald is teaching P.E. this term and has gymnastics plans for everyone!

Mrs Jardine is teaching Art and Design – one of her favourite subjects.

Miss McIntyre is heading out for Outdoor Skills sessions  – pupils will be using their senses and their knot tying skills this term.

Next term Art switches for Music and Outdoor skills switch to STEM lessons – exciting times.

Pupils need to wear their old clothes and bring their P.E. kit with them.

Last week our new Keder Greenhouse was constructed in the playground.

This incredible structure is going to be the home of STEM learning at Holywood. We have big plans for our big greenhouse.

Miss dale said Erin could own the green house and I am letting orla help me because she is such a good best friend and I am her best friend . Miss dale gave us some seeds to plant.

Today we did maths for the second time in 10 weeks we did a test Paul Dakota Greg and Merissa was the who finished the test.

Everyone in P5-7 was thrilled by the arrival of their SPELLING WORKOUT jotters.

Miss Dale and Miss McIntyre have organised the spelling to get pupils more swiftly this session.

Pupils have a terms words in their books and can get them learned as soon as they can.

They will be quizzed on a Friday.

Miss Dale has put a letter in the front of the jotter to explain the method to parents.

This week we were doing forces animations and we are doing a challenge today we are going to slow down a fall of a spoon. And my idea will be falling with style!

Any way let’s get back to it.

We re re-opening BIG THURSDAY we got computer science outdoor learning P.E. and art now that all good bye.
