Hi there
Rory here – just wanted to share some bits of work from the last week.
We have been learning about living and non-living things. We did the task about the aliens using the classification key. We also watched a couple of different videos on what makes something a living thing. We then did our posters. This is mine.
We also a drew picture for French of a house to name all the rooms.
I’m still reading the Twits at the moment. I’ve also completed my Sumdog maths challenge about money. We are just about to go a walk now to spot some things that would make a good bug hotel.
Hope everyone is well. Bye for now 🙂
Rory.
Hi it’s sarah! today I’m going to talk about what I did on my corona because I live next to a river and it’s so sunny. we swam in the river it was a lot of fun my dog Sasha ran from us because we were really wet. We have a kayak and my dad got it out my sister went in and never came out she’s still in haha. Something bad happened to my dog she got bitten by a dog and she has 3 bite marks but she’s ok and my tooth went in my lip it’s so pain full.
Yay, I have a new knife (I ordered it on the internet). I wanted to show you some different cutting techniques so I persuaded my son to help me.
It is better to use a slight slicing action when whittling and making small shallow cuts, not digging too far into the wood. As you can see from these photos, Andrew is left handed, so he wears the right cut resistant glove (I wear the left one because I am right handed). He also wears a thumb protector (made from the horse bandage that I showed you in my first whittling post) on his knife holding hand.
Try to make most of your cuts away from your body and rest your spoon (or whatever you are making) against the blocks on the whittling seat.Â
To make small, controlled cuts use both thumbs to push the blade.Â
To round off the ends of your spoon, start by resting it against one of the blocks on the whittling seat and make small cuts downwards.Â
