Holywood Hullabaloo

We have had a lovely, busy day in the hub. We had a go at the STEM experiments this morning – we found louder noises made bigger vibrations, smaller noises made the rice bounce less on the drum. It was harder to hear things through the water but we all thought it was loud when we banged on the table with our ear on the table!

Some of us took a really long time with art because we wanted to make a good job of it – hope you like them Mrs Jardine. We thought they were very effective!

Owen really liked Rock when we listened to music. Olivia and Brooke were fans of pop and disco for a dance. Kaitlyn said she liked the punk – so did Miss Stapleton and Mrs Fraser. Bailey and Miller had a dance to most songs!

We went for a walk this afternoon and then some of us did some PE in the hall. Others were tired so did a bit of EPIC. Hope you have all had a good day too!

Hey everybody today I read the rest of my book about Newfoundland dogs on Epic. Newfoundland dogs are used as rescue dogs in the sea. They can grow up to 15 pounds (6.8kg) in size. They have webbed feet that makes it easier for them to swim. Newfoundland dogs  were from newfoundland Canada originally but people brought them over to England in the 1800s. My nana Kate had 3 newfoundland dogs called Dakota, Guinness and Bono. They were loving dogs wit has a lovely nature. We miss them lots

Today I also did some spicy maths and some big Thursday work on music. I like pop music because it makes me happy. By Esmaé

Today I done the Lego challenge it was so fun that I could do it again because it was with mummy. A couple of weeks ago I done typography and it was super fun especially fun because it was with daddy. Daddy told us about the different type faces.Here are a picture of some different type faces below.

Today I did some typology, it was fun, we got a picture of loch morlich from the webcam to get the layout.  I didn’t choose the snowy picture that came up,  I made it a sunset and showed one of the ducks I like to feed and the beach I play on.

Today I done the dream home Lego challenge. My house is made out of a mixture of sets.

I worked on practising my 4 times table and then I did lots of different quarter questions. I told my Mum I couldn’t do division so she made me do a lot of division. I realised I could do division! I also read more on Epic. I really enjoyed seeing everyone’s pets on the class meet up.
We watched some videos about the Arctic. One was about what explorers used to wear and what they would wear now. We then talked about the differences. A long time ago they would wear lots of thin layers and build them up. Now they wear less layers that are thicker and the big jacket or suit they wear will be filled with feathers. The lady  said she found it very difficult to move in all the layers in the old outfit. She thought it would make exploring even harder than it already was with bad weather. She found the modern outfit much easier to move in and more comfortable.

I have been drawing a comic called The Hunt. Its about a man that is searching for different hunters to help him.

We watched the 3rd episode of Perfect Planet. My 3 facts from this weeks episode are –
The rain frog lives in the desert even though it’s called a rain frog. It needs 100 days of fog to survive.
Red crabs live on Christmas Island. They lay their eggs in water, but they don’t actually like water and they are scared of it.
Fire ants make a living raft when the jungle floods to save the colony. They float in the water until the can climb up into a tall plant. They keep the queen safe in the middle.

Today at home an hour or 2 before lunch we started to do some work which was some shakesphere high quality vocabulary and funtion machines. Later on in the day we are going to take woody for a walk in the fields.
