In the hub today

Lots of maths and literacy done in the hub today. Special mentions to …

…Carlay, who worked hard on her number order and checked that her numbers were the right way round.

…James, who worked very hard on his addition.

…Olivia, who coached a younger child to upload a photo onto the blog.

…Olly,  who tried something he thought was a challenge, persevered and was SUCCESSFUL!

…Brooke, who drew and labelled a traditional Inuit parka and compared it to modern clothing that would be worn in the Arctic.

…Daniel, who independently completed the Venn diagram task for The True Story of the Three Little Pigs.

More clay polar bears have been begun and some have been painted and finished.

Some children have been using their typography skills to make lettering for our Arctic display.

Lovely to see some P4s and P5s (and their pets) on the Teams meet up, today!

My busy Wednesday!

Hello everyone! Its Cleo. Today I’ve been quite a busy bee and I’m going to share it all with you.

I started the day off with writing sentences for the words that I matched up with the meanings yesterday.

The nobleman next door became a conspirator in the plot.

The old man down the road was known as a tyrant because he shouted at children.

King Author decided to banish a knight from the round table.

My cat Zorro felt triumphant after winning a fight against another cat.

I am lucky to have the liberty of freedom in life.

At the concert, a man tried to jostle through the crowd to get to the front.

Macbeth was a ruthless man because he killed king Duncan to become king faster.

The soldier was an honourable man and received medals.

The Mother lion avenged her cubs by killing the hyena.

The pirate uncovered all the loot in the treasure chest.

The song I have chosen for to represent Brutus from Julius Caeser is Backstabber. I chose the song because it is about a girl who betrayed her friend and it is a bit similar to what Brutus did to Julius Caeser.

An example lyric:

“Girl, you’re such a backstabber! (Stabber, you’re such a backstabber)”

This is a line from the song. I feel it’s very relevant because Brutus backstabbed Caeser when he was supposed to be his friend. He betrayed him and helped to kill him, which is actually quite a big betrayal!

Afterwards I listened to an audiobook on Epic. The book is called Swipe. I listened to it for half an hour. Quite an interesting book. I watched two videos about what clothes they used to wear in Arctic and what they wear now a days to Arctic and a video about what animals you find there. To end the day off I did some Five-a-day and chose spicy but found it quite easy!

I hope you all had a great day and remember to wash your hands!

The stupid computer didn’t let us in D:

Rhona

Selkie says; Everyone got very excited just before 2 o’clock, then we went into the computer room and all sat down (I was on Rhona’s knee :).) Mum tried to work the computer for a while, she tried really hard, then shouted a bit, then called Dad. I’m not sure what it was all about but I think we’re all going for a walk to calm down. Later I will send you a picture of me typing.

Esmae’s Blog

Hey everybody. Today I did some algebra and some five a day then I went on bitesize. I did some work on timestables and punctuation. I had to pick the correct sentence that had the right punctuation. It was a little tricky. Im going to pick a book to read on epic now. By Esmae

True story 3 little pigs vocabulary

Today I started with my words, I then listened to the true story of the 3 little pigs again so I could do the vocabulary sheet.  I listened to it to find out what the words mean.

I also watched some bbc bite size which was good showing me fractions.  Then I did some partitioning on some big adding up, this took a while and needed a lot of help but I can see how it works.

I then did my little blog and am getting quicker finding where the letters are on the keyboard, I’m getting good at using the mouse.
