Reading Nuke

Hi all,

I have done a lot of reading today as Mum let us decide what we wanted to focus on so I chose EPIC. I read one full book of 8- bit diaries (Minecraft), I’ve researched bat species for a task I’m working on, and some biology.

Mum has made some brilliant cranberry and orange scones today. I have told her if there is a school family bake off, we definitely have to take part.

I’ve done tonnes of drawing DC Comic superheroes and villains.

See you tomorrow. From Caspian.

Amazing Alliterations

Hi all,

Caspian is back!!!

Today I made some alliterations in literacy, I could not write them all because there were 26. Thats right, I did not do a few. I did the whole alphabet! I also made a stop motion with Mark, I could not show it here because I am writing this on a computer.

Bye for now!

Goosebumps

Hi all, Caspian is back.

Today I have been doing research on France and Spain, and also writing down numbers and colours in both languages. I have also done my usual maths, spelling and reading. I have put some time in on Sumdog, 49 questions and got them all right. My new book for reading is Goosebumps, Return of the Mummy by R L Stine. Last night mum made butterfly buns which I called buttered fly cakes! I ate five of them and now I feel a bit like I’m having a slow sugar rush!! 🕷🍰

Dissecting the Earth

Hi all, Caspian is back!

The first thing I did today was I had to choose any fictional character of my choosing to have as my friend. I chose Kid Flash. I wrote about his characteristics and the comics and games he is from, and also why I wanted to be friends with him. This was an exercise in story building, presentation and vocabulary. Mum said my handwriting was really well presented.

My second lesson was geography. In it, I had questions about western Europe.  I used the atlas to help me locate various rivers, cities, mountain ranges and also which countries are bordered by other countries.

My third lesson was a study of the earth’s crust and core. I drew a picture in cross section showing the the layers of the earth and labelled them. Then I wrote a brief description of each layer.

That’s it for today, powering down!

Greek Gods

Hi all, Caspian is back from a mythological experience. Today I have done a lot of research into Greek mythology. I have found out about Arachne for whom spiders are named.  I also read about Cupid. I read some of this when I read The Oddyssey last year.

I also did some work on my How We Used to Live lessons. Today I focussed on evacuees. It made feel incredibly sad, how awful it must have been for the little children.

See you tomorrow.

Woodpecker Facts for Mrs Madden

Hi all, quick update from Caspian. These are my woodpecker facts from yesterday.

  1. They can peck a tree 30  times per second.
  2.  They peck trees to make nests.
  3. Their life span is 6  – 11 years.
  4. There are 200 species of woodpecker.
  5. Some species live in deserts.
  6. There are air pockets protecting their brains so they don’t hurt their head when they are pecking.
  7. Males and females make the nest together.
  8. The wood chippings make the nest soft for the chicks.
  9. Woodpeckers are endangered.
  10. Sometimes they accidentally peck metal and telephone poles.

Kitten in a Bag!

Hi all, I’m back with some good news. Ludo is much better and is allowed out of his hospital cage on a regular basis now. He is not allowed to jump though as his pelvis is still mending. Also, today Saxon our pirate cat decided to hide in a delivery bag for five minutes!

Anyway, back to school work now. I got my work done quite quickly today. I had vocabulary, maths and French language and French geography today. I have also read a lot on Epic. Last night I read a lot while Ludo was curled up on my knee.

Bye.

Encyclopedic Woodpeckers

Hi all. Caspian is back.

Today I had maths, vocabulary and reading. I spent quite a lot of time on SumDog working on mathematical measurements. I got sucked into my book so much  I wanted the whole day to be reading; my book is Vipero, Snake Man by Adam Blade, part of the Beast Quest series. For my Natural World lesson, I  did some research on woodpeckers. I used an antiquarian children’s encyclopedia of Mums. I also drew a picture of a woodpecker and stuck it in my book.

That is pretty much a run down of what I did today. Bye!! 🐺

Hi all,

I’ve enjoyed doing loads of coding over the weekend. Here is a link (or copy and paste) to what I have done. If you want to try and copy this, go to code.org dance party.

https://studio.code.org/projects/dance/mL0ycYmBlRyrrHLW6D0s723qQ5G85UlU0zhZibIKqZE?qr=true

I have done a lot of reading on Epic, I have gone from level 8 to level 11 and I have got some new achievements. Tanith is doing really well on Epic too but I admit I got a bit cross she went from level 1 to level 11!

We also did a kindness exercise today where we were asked to write down an act of kindness we had done, and one done for us during the coronavirus.

Bye, see you tomorrow.
