A poem about my dog Beans

Here is my poem I wrote with similes

My Dog Beans

She’s as playful as a tiger cub.

Beans is as beautiful as blossom.

 As clever as a dolphin.

She is as grumpy as a bear if you lose her ball.

 As cuddly as a duckling.

She’s like a fish when she swims.

As ready to pump as is a cowboy addicted to baked beans.

Area challenge – Week 2

Here is my garden challenge design and budget. in total I spent £577.40, this is under the £800 budget.

With my remaining £223.60 in the budget I would buy a tree house. Miss Stapleton I’m sure just forgot to put it on the list of things you were allowed to buy as what garden wouldn’t be complete without one?

I really liked the challenge I did week one as well hope there will be more like it.

FRIDGE CAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and other things I did this week)

Hi everyone

This week I made a fridge cake with my mum if you  don’t  know what that is you basically use anything with chocolate in, in the back of the fridge or cupboard and jam it in a chocolate mixture then put it in the fridge this is why it is called the fridge cake because you don’t bake you set it in the fridge (we made it on Tuesday and theres still only 1 piece left). Here is a video on how to make it  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uu3aLO56k9s&feature=youtu.be&app=desktop

Today I did some maths I finished the sundog challenge! I also did some literacy with some Harry Potter literacy challenges and finally algorithms I made a voice message and my mum followed the instructions and got my teddy (after 7 try’s) but I thought the video was really funny I liked the little boys reaction after the 4th try hehe.

What I got up to today.

Today I was set an art project by my mum I had to take pictures of stormtroopers on their days off. I used my action figures and made props out of paper, household objects and lego pieces do this.

Today I also did some work on adapted characteristics which are characteristics that have been learnt like drawing and using tools to adapt an environment. I chose a tree kangaroo for my animal to research on how they have adapted to their environment I also drew myself in different environment.

The Life Cycle of a Frog

Here is my Life cycle of a frog – my Tadpoles are still at the tadpole stage, but they should get legs in the next couple of weeks.

here is a video of my tadpoles doing what tadpoles do best…eat and swim… today I learnt that the time it takes for a tadpole to develop in to froglet is dependant on how much food they have and how cold it is so it can take anything from 12 weeks up to 1 year… I hope it will be 12 weeks!

Big Thursday!

Hi Everyone

Today I have drawn a manga version of my self, done some SumDog maths and took notes on an episode of planet earth narrated by David Attenbourgh. I have enjoyed big Thursday but it would have been made better if my friends were here. I played with some Lego in break time. This week and last week we have been doing some random acts of kindness I made some donuts and chocolate brownies and I gave them to my neighbours, we also gave some flour to some people really wanted some and we bring the people in our streets wheelie bins up to their houses. We have found a way to get my GoPro video from Monday to work heres the video via YouTube (this is a private link):

My Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone

Guess what yesterday May the 4th (fittingly star wars day)

was my birthday! I turned 11 it was really good but it could have been improved by my friends and family being there but I still I got to talk to them on Skype we did it on facebook so we did the funny faces filters. I got lots of great presents my main present was a GoPro camera witch can go under water speed up every thing or slow it down or you can just use it as a normal camera cool right! I took a speeded up video of me and my dad walking my dog – but I can’t get it to upload on here as it is too large. I had a really good birthday one of the best birthdays EVER!!!

see ya 🙂

Why dogs are better.

Dogs

  • All pets can help peoples mental health, but dogs also help with physical health. There is lots of scientific research that shows people with dogs live longer healthier lives because dogs reduce their stress levels which lower their blood pressure and keep a more active than people who do not have dogs I got this from a recent Time magazine article see if you can find it on Google.
  • Dogs are very helpful or as a cat will just ignore you.
  •  Dogs can have jobs like guide dogs, search and rescue dogs, police dogs and sheepdogs.
  • Dogs are good companions will sit with you when you are watching telly or reading things like that.
  • Dogs can be very playful when you are on walks or just in your garden or even your house.
  • Dogs partly depend on you so there will be better behaved around you.
  • Dogs are more cuddly towards you. You will quite often find dogs that will sit on your lap and get lots of pats from you.
  • Dogs are very easy to train compared to cats.

Cats

  • They sometimes kill wildlife or scare it away did you know that cats catch up to 100 million prey every year over the spring and summer  27 million of which are birds.
  • Cats throw up furballs around your house so you have to clean up.
  • Have you ever heard the phrase dogs have owners cats have staff?  it basically means that dogs will respect you more and cats are only interested in you because you feed them and pet them
  • Cats are also very difficult to train.
  • You might say cats catch mice and rats but you can train dogs to do that too, for example Jack Russell’s were bred and often trained to catch mice and rats.

 Conclusion

I have had both cats and dogs but prefer dogs because of their loyalty playfulness and helpfulness so, in conclusion, I think dogs are much better than cats.

Lemon Clock

Today I have done an experiment using lemons to power a clock.

We did this from a set, that contained a small digital clock, two sticks of zinc and three pieces of wire. We had to do is chop the lemon in half. Then we had to get two forks and stick them in both lemon halves. Next, we put the zinc sticks in each lemon half and connected the red wire to 1 of the forks and the black wire to 1 of the zinc sticks on the other lemon half then we connected both these wires to the clock. Then we attached the white wire to the remaining zinc stick and fork. Finally, we Sellotaped the wires in place and the clock started working!

So how does it work?

The forks acts like positive electrodes in a battery. They are plated with metal which doesn’t react as much as the zinc does. When the forks and zinc plates are put into the lemon, a chemical reaction happens. Electrons create a negative charge which moves from the zinc plates to the forks to make a current this switching on the clock. Lemon juice helps conducts electricity this can also be done with potatoes and grapefruit.

Here are my pictures of my potato and lemon clock.
