Aunt Jane’s tea cups – take 2

Hi Everybody,

Turns out the first time I did this it wasn’t right but I’ve fixed it now and we’ve looked over it lots of times and we think it’s right. We tried different patterns, when we found one that worked it was simple.

See you soon,

Joe!😜😂🤣🐶🐵🐾

Aunt Jane’s Cups and Saucers

Hi Everybody,

Here’s my solution to the tea cup problem we think it’s right. Here’s how we did it, I worked through the first row and then reversed it for the row below then I work logically though the row below and then reversed it again.

is it right Miss Stapleton?

See you soon,

Joe

the Inuit people.

Hi Everybody,

Today and yesterday I have been learning about the Inuit people. and how they live in the polar climate. Here is a picture of were some of the Inuit communities are. There are four different groups stretching across northern Canada, Alaska and Greenland. Did you know the word Eskimo might be an indigenous word meaning raw meat eaters given to them by people south of were the Inuit live but there are a few different theories.

Inuk means one Inuit person, Inuuk is the the word for two Inuit people  and Inuit describes the people who live in Canada and Alaska. The people in Greenland call themselves Kalaallit.

I have also learnt about there culture and traditions like an inukshuk here’s a picture. They are used to point the way home if your lost.

Now I haven’t learnt about the Inuit alphabet but I think it looks like star wars writing so I’ve included a picture.

See you, Joe

My Arctic food chain

Hi everyone,

Today I made a poster about the food chain in the Arctic circle. Here is a picture of my poster:

In my poster there are four levels on which the different animals are in the chain: it starts with the sun then producers, and primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary consumers. Orcas are at the top of the food chain because of them being known to hunt polar bears. To gather this information we researched in books and online also I watched David Attenborough’s documentary, Polar Seas.

See you,

Joe

My walk with Beans

Hi everyone,

This morning I went on a walk with my dog Beans it was not the best weather, here are some words I would describe it with:

Dreich, dreary, bleak, gloomy/dark, good weather for ducks, frogs, newts, tedious, depressing and cold.

Here’s how Beans would describe it:

Exciting, scary, smelly, adventure, energy, awsome, family time, fun, zoomtastic.

Hope you all had a great Christmas,

See you  Joe

French and other learning.

Hey everyone

After 6 months of no french we have started it again! At the moment we’re just doing revision so its not that interesting. Today we’ve  been  doing dates and years.

This week we have been making Christmas decorations for care homes which has been good. Some of the things we’re making mini bauble hats, peg snow men, sock snow men and Christmas paper crafts.

See ya, Joe.

Pointless contraptions

Hi everyone, for the last week or so in class we have been making complicated little contraptions. They do very, very simple things you could just do your self, like turning a page or sharpening a pencil. My pointless contraption poked someone on the back. It’s been a lot of fun doing these machines. These machines were based on Rube Goldberg’s amazing contraptions.

See you Joe!

This week at school

Hi everyone

This week at school has been really good here are some of the  things we did:

*We started building 2 meter tall towers out of wood.

*We’ve been learning about pulleys and how they make lifting easier.

*We also have been making circuits which power lights, buzzers and motors.

*And finally we did Lego we,do where you program Lego to move or make noises.

All these things are really fun! Do you do things like this at your school?

See you!

Today at school

Hi everybody

At school today we did a bit of filing with our folders  which was ok. But then we got a talk from an author about a graphic novel she helped make it was a very exiting talk and and a good graphic novel. we did a wee comic after the talk, my comic was about a zombie having a tea party with a ghost.

see yah Joe.

Forces

Recently in school our topic has been forces. The main three forces are push, pull and twist. We have also been learning about air and water dynamics. We did an experiment were we through a ball of one of the hills and timed it we did the same thing again but with parachute attached to see if it got slower. That all for today.
