Last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I went to my induction days at St. Joseph’s College in dumfries. Today I’ll be talking about Wednesday. OK GO!

Wednesday

On day one I get up, grab my backpack and shoot out the door like rocket! I get to St. Joe’s and go down to the meeting point, turns out I’m in group 1-b. A couple of S6s showed us where to go and how to get to our English class.

English Class

In English we were designing hoodies about ourselves.

French Class

In French we were just going over what we learned in primary school.

Break Time

At break I decided to phone my mother and ended up almost giving her a heart attack because she forgot that I was allowed my phone.

Social Studies

I SS we were told what we would be learning about which was: history, geography and something else that I can’t remember.

Double Science

In Science we were making this Cobalt Chloride paper that is used to test for water. After that we were testing what different types of salt looks like on a flame.Fun Fact: Strontium Chloride looks reddish when put in a flame!

Lunch

I had a chicken goujon wrap and a brownie for lunch.

 

Double Home Economics

In Home EC we made french bread pizza.

Then everyone went home.

I am reading Tiger Tiger in class. The main setting is the palace in Ancient Rome and the two main characters are Boots and Brute (tiger cubs) .These are the main events in the story so far:

• Two tiger cubs are captured.
• The tiger cubs get brought to Rome by ship.
• One cub goes to Caesar’s daughter, Lady Aurelia, and the other goes to the Colosseum.

Hello Contijn! How do you like Holywood so far?

I like it !  I like it because I’m more outside here because in The Hague its to busy outside and to much cars .

It’s the city where  I lived in the Netherlands.

I like basketball. Because of the bouncy ball .

Tigers because when I see at tiger I think about my four cats !

the names of my cats are Obi, Janneke, Leo and Tobias.

Do you have any other pets?

Yeah I have a dog as well. His name is Llorentz.

Good morning everyone!

Over the past two weeks P6-7 have been learning about World Religion in IDL. Everyone is doing one of six religions: Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism. Me and my partner are learning about Islam and the 5 pillars of Islam which are: Shahadah , Salah, Zakat, Hajj and Fasting.

Six steps to save the world!

Step 1: Stop burning fossil fuels because they release carbon dioxide which goes into the Atmosphere and makes the earth warmer.

Step 2: Farmers could start going Organic which will stop bees being killed by pesticides.

Step 3: Recycle your unwanted household items to be reused again!

Step 4: Using cars less often will reduce carbon footprints and carbon emissions.

step 5: Stopping deforestation will increase animals habitats such as orangutans and tree dwelling animals.

Step 6: Stop littering on the streets will decrease the likelihood of animals getting caught in the rubbish.

 

 

This morning we did a bit of health week! Today the group that I was in was doing the  cooking segment and we made pancakes with oats and banana.

In Maths we were finishing the Class Data Spreadsheet which is data that we compiled from a questionnaire.

This afternoon we are doing an Eco quiz!

Hi, as you all know the holidays are over and as a result we have been asked to blog about our holidays so here we go. This was the first week:

  I pretty much just spent 3 days realising that I had 2 weeks to do what ever I want. “This is going to fun…probably” I thought.

  I spent the next four days reading, playing Minecraft, playing RDR2 and my birthday was on the 6th day 😀 I had a party at the lochside community centre and a bunch of my friends from school came. 😀
