Choo Choo!

I have been learning about Glenn Miller today.

  1. Glenn Miller was a music teacher then he had a big band.
  2. He played the trombone in his band.
  3. His band was an army band during World War Two.
  4. His music was heard throughout the war.
  5. He was travelling to Paris when his ‘plane disappeared and to this day, no one knows what happened.
  6. I listened to Chatanooga Choo Choo and Moonlight Serenade. I loved the music a lot and mummy is going to find more for me to listen to. Chatanooga Choo Choo sounded like the beat of a steam train.

I have also drawn a picture in memory of Lunar. She is a rainbow cat now.

In the Mood!

Hi all, Caspian is back!

Today I have been researching Glenn Miller, the American band leader. He played the trombone, and during the second World War, his ‘plane disappeared over the English Channel prompting many conspiracy theories to this day. I have been listening to some of his music arrangement (see title above). I learnt about syncopated rhythm like that in Chattanooga Choo Choo. It is not my kind of music but I know it is important to at least understand different musical types and from different eras. I give Moonlight Serenade a 1 out of 10, Chatanooga Choo Choo 4.5 out of 10. My scores are only on personal taste not the arrangement.

Tonight, we are playing my Doctor Who board game.

Bye.

Monday 29th June

Hello,

Today we created a new land for Holywood Studios based on Honey I Shrunk The Kids movie.  The landmark it would be known for like the other Disney parks is the giant ant – like the film!!  We designed a Dustpan Rollercoaster, a Bee swing, a virtual reality Ant Ride, a giant ice cream store and giant fish pond.  As you enter the land you are shrunk down like in the film so everything around you is supersized

Monday 29th June

Hello,

Today I drew some Disney characters – we all know how much our house loves Walt Disney World!!!!  We have created a new land for Disney too to be based in Holywood Studios – Rhys will upload it!  We have watched the Imagineering Story on Disney+ when it came out and loved all the behind the scenes bits of what we see every year when we go.  I have lots of happy memories and pictures from our Disney trips especially last year when I got turned into a princess in Cinderella’s Castle and got to be a part of Beauty and the Beast!

My Monday

Today I started with some reading and I was quite fast today!  I then went over some words and after I did a few sums and some clock work as it’s been ages.

Wildlife

I have some unwanted wildlife in my garden at the moment.  They are the caterpillars of the Forester Moth and they are eating the insides of my spinach leaves.  It is amazing how much damage a tiny caterpillar can do.

Also, the sparrow chicks that were in the nest box on the side of my house have now fledged.  Here are a couple of photos of one of the adults feeding the chicks before they fledged.

It’s The Last Week of Term…
