Term 2

We had a great first week back at school. Our friends from Big Noise Douglas came to work with us on Tuesday and Thursday and we got to try out different instruments for the first time. We played violins, violas, double bases and cellos.

In Numeracy we are continuing to work on place value and soon we will move on to working on our number bonds. Our Learning to Read Groups started again on Monday and lots of us have moved to new colours and are excited to be making such amazing progress.

We are working on our fitness levels in gym and we went outside for some circuit training on Thursday.

In our school bags this week we brought home our speaking parts for our P2 Assembly next Wednesday. Please help us to practise as much as we can so we can put on a fantastic performance!

End of Term 1

We can’t believe term one is over already! We have been working really hard recently with our friends from Big Noise Douglas and Gordon and Kirsty have introduced us to different instruments, games and songs. We are enjoying it a lot and we can’t wait to start playing our own instruments sometime soon!

During our last week before the October holiday, we visited the Community Garden at Dawson Park with our friends in primary 2/3. We had the chance to look at the different flowers and animals found there and meet some of the people who volunteer in the garden. It was a great morning of exploring and we especially liked the butterflies.

Our last Friday of school was a Fab Fit Friday and we took part in some amazing activities. First of all we met Craig from the gym in Douglas who taught us some circuit training exercises. It was exhausting! We played some outdoor games and then had the chance to try out some different dance styles with Glen fro Aspire. We had a bit of a rest listening to our visitor from Police Scotland and finally we had the opportunity to try out a huge inflatable obstacle course in the playground. We had a great time and were definitely ready for our holiday after such a busy last day!
