Hello everyone!

I am in the Hub part of this week so I will not be on Teams properly until Thursday,  but I will still be checking and would love to see everyone on there. Feel free to post any questions you have, any photos of what you have been up to and all the wonderful work you have been doing during lockdown.

We only have 4 weeks left until the end of the year as it is now June, so I would love to speak to you all before the summer holidays.

Please log on to SumDog and MyMaths in the meantime and make sure you enjoy the sunshine and get out for plenty of fresh air. I hope you are all enjoying seeing more people and able to take advantage of garden visits.

Why don’t you choose a family movie to watch together?

Think about parents and children in movies or TV shows you have watched: Who are your favourites? You can draw pictures and write information about them.

I love to hate Matilda’s parents – Harry and Zinnia Wormwood, and I think Baloo and Bageera make a great parenting team for Mowgli in The  Jungle Book.

Hello everyone.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Below you will find some learning activities to do this week.

Continue to log in to Sumdog and MyMaths to develop your numeracy and literacy skills as I will set competitions and challenges each week.

As it is National Paper Aeroplane Day today I have included ‘How To’ instructions for making your own. I will also post a link to a YouTube tutorial. Instructions are very important. Have a go at writing your own using the resources below. You can write instructions on how to make anything you like.

Good morning everyone!

I had a great time in the Hub last week but I missed you all!

I hope you had a lovely week and made the most of National Numeracy Day.

This week there will be new Spelling, Numeracy and Grammar Sumdog competitions. There will be winners for participation and for correct answers.

This week is a short week as it is in service on Thursday and Friday, You would normally have been off school these days 🙂

Looking forward to hearing from you all this week. I bumped into 2 people from our class last week and that was brilliant! Can’t wait to see you all again.

fruit mystery maths – here is a link to a mystery for you to solve. Each page will give you clues which will lead you closer to finding out who squished the fruit. Do a page a day or try it all at once to solve the mystery (Use the answers only to check your work.)

pictogram tally – the first sheet is filled out with an imaginary class’s data. If you would like to do the other sheets you can come on Microsoft Teams and ask the class what their favourite fruit is, or you can phone round relatives and ask them, or both! I’m sure everyone would love to hear from you.

Today is National No Dirty Dishes Day!

Why don’t you make a bigger effort today to help around the house? As soon as you are done with a plate or cup or fork, make sure you pop it in the kitchen, or even better, clean it straight away.

Here is a little information sheet about how to wash dishes: your adults can show you how to do it or you can show your younger siblings how to do it.

I have made our class video but I would like to give it another go if more videos and photos are posted. (I’ve found it  very difficult to get the timing of your videos the same as Bruno Mars singing so would like to practise more!)

Hello everyone!

To make your online use safer I have set it so the next time you log in you will be prompted to change your password – you will use the same password we have been using and then you will be asked to change it to whatever you like.

Whatever you change this to only you will know this password so it is important you write it down somewhere safe and try to keep it stored in your brain too 🧠 so make it something you can easily remember.

I am in the hub this week so I will not be on Teams but I will still check it at points so if you have any problems or questions let me know.

To log in to Microsoft Teams google Glow log in – you can then enter the username:

Example:

ddjbloggs12@glow.sch.uk

and password:

1234567890

This will take you to the Launchpad where you will find the Microsoft Teams app.

If it is not there you can go to Search Launchpad at the right hand  side of the screen and type Microsoft Teams.

Your Microsoft Teams logins and Sumdog logins were given to you on a card. Not everyone received these as not everyone was present the last week of school.

You should also have been sent this information through ParentPay.

Please check your emails and if you cannot find the log in details reply to this post and I will use your email to pass on the information.

We will get all these technical issues sorted and be on track soon enough I’m sure. Here to help in any way I can.

Hello everyone!

If you’ve not tried out the Joe Wicks YouTube workout 🏋️‍♀️ they are all still available on his channel – The Body Coach.

I have just completed today’s session and it’s so much fun and is a great start to the day 👍

Although the weather isn’t great, get out in the garden or go for your daily allowance of outdoor exercise and go for a walk. Make sure to get out for a little bit of fresh air – practise keepy-ups as demonstrated by Mr Albyati on Twitter, do some stretches like  the ones we do in PE, run around 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️ or jog on the spot. Do anything active that comes to mind ; star jumps, burpees, jumping jacks.

I will be going for a jog today, making sure to keep a 2 metre distance from anyone who is also out for their daily exercise.

As we have been writing imaginative diary entries in class, as fairytale characters and Ancient Egyptian gods or pharaohs, I thought it would be good for you to think about this week and write a personal diary entry.

Have a think of what you would like to include. Talk to the people in your household about it. I will upload materials for you to complete. You can choose which template you would like to use.

I can’t wait to read your thoughts and experiences.
