Week 7

Monday 24th February

Messy Maths this morning in p1/2. Lots of fun making numbers, reading number words and showing number value.

Arlo overcame the challenge of making the number 24.

We spoke lots about the value of the number and what twenty looks like. He told me that twenty is 10+ 10 so we got 2 ten pieces of Numicon. We then spoke about how to make the number 4. Arlo decided to make it using 4 ones. Then we spoke about different ways of making 4 and swapped Numicon pieces. Excellent perseverance, Arlo ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Jessica showing the value of 24 using Numicon. ⭐️

Lucas was exploring the sand tray to find different ways to represent the value of 33. ⭐️

Making One Hundred in pairs. Overcoming challenges and finding new ways to show number value. Excellent work Piotr and Carter! ⭐️

Some of our amazing Number Talk work this morning. Look at all these amazing strategies from Julia and Lucas. Guess our number!!  2️⃣2️⃣

Tuesday 25th February

In PE we have been working on our jumping skills. We have been doing star, pencil and tuck jumps. Look at these amazing jumpers!

Wednesday 26th February

We have also been learning to roll in different ways. We learnt how to do a forwards roll and a sausage roll. We found teddy bear rolls tricky but we’re going to try again next week!

Thursday 27th February

Having fun during SODA playing with our friends.

Friday 28th February

We started learning about Money today and recognising different coins and their value. We also learnt about the life cycle of a frog.

Week 6

What a speedy week! So glad every one had a fun Half Term. We all came back feeling refreshed and ready for more learning before the Easter holidays!

Here’s some snaps of what we’ve been up to. Building, sharing, exploring, investigating and so much more 😀

When painting our minibeast models we learnt how to mix different paint together to make colours. This was so much fun. Gracie explains how she made silver 😀

Abbie mixed blue and yellow together to make a dark green. She said she needed to use more blue to make it darker looking.

Exploring and investigating with different colours on our models.

Here’s a video of Ford reading a story to Miss Mackay today. He did such a brilliant job using Fred in his Head!

Wednesday 12th February

In PE this week we have been learning about different types of jumps. Here are some pictures of us trying out star, tuck, 180 and 360 degree jumps. We all did a fantastic job and staying safe on equipment and listening well 😀

Great job everyone! Have a super long weekend. I can’t wait to hear all your stories about what you get up to 😊

Week 4

Monday 10th February

We collected data on people’s favourite minibeasts in the class. With the help of the p7s we created our pictographs on the tablets. It was clear that the favourite minibeast in our class was a butterfly.

Tuesday 11th February

In PE, we have been refining our skills in dodgeball. Each lesson we talk about the rules and change or add in a new rule. This week we swapped the bean bags for balls. Everyone was safe and followed the rules really well.

Wednesday 12th February

MISTAKES HELP US LEARN

Samuel going over and above. He wrote out this calculation on his whiteboard. We talked through it as a class – this really helped. Samuel thought very carefully about this. He knew there was a mistake and needed to fix it. The pictures don’t show it but he ended up changing his mind and writing 12. Great job overcoming challenges, Samuel!

Thursday 6th February

The P2s were super excited today. We learnt how to hold our instruments and how they should be played.

Super well done to Blake who received this award at his Football Training on Wednesday.

Friday 7th February

Today we have been learning about food chains. At lunch Michael collected berries from the bush in the infant playground. We used these berries to learn about what animals eat berries. Then we spoke about what animals eat the animals that eat berries. Michaels picture explains it much better than Miss Mackay can!!

Thanks for a great week everyone 🌟🌟🌟

Week 3

Doing some daily exercise in class! Working on our balances and stamina with Joe Wicks 🏃🏻

In Big Noise we welcome each over every Tuesday and Thursday with Kirsty. It’s such a lovely way to start our day off.

On Thursday we had our sharing assembly with the school. We shared what we had been learning about minibeasts and their natural habitats. Mrs Liang said that we did a great job! 😀

Huge well done to Ford who received the Team Trophy at the Friday Football training with Mikey at School.

On Friday we used clay to make our own 3D minibeasts. Here are some pictures of our amazing artwork. We will be painting them in class next week 🐝🐛🦋🐌🐞🐜🦟🕷🦗

Next Tuesday 4️⃣th Feb  is our Open Afternoon starting at 2pm. We look forward to sharing our learning with all our Parents & Carers 😊
