Monday 23rd September 

Awesome Number Talk this morning. We were talking about the number 9. We learnt that this was an Odd Number. We spoke about odd and even numbers too.

Blake drew 9 number ones on his board. Miss Mackay thought these were tally marks. We spoke about tally marks and look at what these amazing learners were doing. This will be a new strategy we will include on Wednesday! Super focus and concentration in Numeracy today P1/2.

Tuesday 24th September

Look at our amazing balances. We have been learning about different ways to travel and how to use equipment safely.

What fantastic  control everyone showed in their body movements!

Wednesday 25th September

After our MacMillian Coffee morning we were making shapes with marshmallows and cocktail sticks. What super fun we had!!! We made squares, triangles, rectangles and even circles! We soon figured out that we couldn’t use sticks when making circles!

Look at what Cameron surprised us all by making. What fantastic work! Creating 3D shapes without even realising. This is called a Triangular Prism.

Thursday 26th September

Super morning with Big Noise recapping songs and rhymes that we learnt before to help us understand notational value.

Friday 27th September

Fab Fit Friday and Castle building today!

We can’t believe that next week is the last week of term! What a super fast first term it has been 😀😀😀

Number Talk: focusing on number 6.

Tuesday 17th September 

Such a busy day that we got no photos!! We had Big Noise in the morning where we did some fantastic listening and played lots of fun games. After break we had Read Write Inc. Then after lunch we had our P1 Numeracy event where we fun stations set up to explore our learning.

Wednesday 18th September 

Showing our fantastic Number Talk work to the P1s and Mrs Corrie next door! We are all mathematical super stars!!

Building confidence and resilience in maths is so important. As well as making mistakes! Making mistakes helps us learn and make connections in our learning.

Thursday 19th September 

Big Noise this morning where we were learning new songs and rhythms to help us learn about musical notation. After break we all worked super hard in RWI and then with Miss O’Rourke after lunch when we were developing our listening and talking skills.

Friday 20th September

In Numeracy we are recognising different numbers and matching them to quantities and resources. In this station you need to match the stone, numicon, card and peg.

We have been developing our fine motor skills by creating pasta necklaces. We have also been tweezing Pom Poms into cupcake cases, matching quantity with numeral.

P7s visited us today to read us their amazing stories! We loved hearing them. Thank you for visiting us 😀

SODA (Start of Day Activity) Time. This is when we explore new stations/areas of the classroom and we work on important social skills like teamwork, cooperation, listening and problem solving.

Tuesday 10th September 

In PE we are working on controlling our body movements. This includes travelling in different ways, balancing and jumping. Look at these super stars 🌟

Wednesday 11th September 

Today we started with Number Talk. We spoke about the number 4 and the different ways you can write and show it’s value. Fantastic mathematicians 0️⃣1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣4️⃣5️⃣6️⃣7️⃣8️⃣9️⃣🔟

Thursday 12th September 

Our super p1s practising writing their names – with the help of Batman and Robin near by too!

Monday 2nd September 

We’ve been busy ordering numbers in p1/2. We practised counting them in ascending and descending order. This will help us when we practise our number bonds!

Tuesday 3rd September 

With Big Noise we have been developing our knowledge of musical notation and value. In these pictures we were learning about minims, crochets and quavers through fun games and activities.

Wednesday 4th September 

Our p1s have been busy ordering numbers 1-10 using numicon! They’ve shown fantastic focus and determination 😀

Thursday 5th September 

Such a busy day Miss Mackay forgot to take pictures! Big Noise in the morning and Literacy groups after break. After lunch we had RME with Miss O’Rourke.

 

Friday 6th September 

Practising our shape work outside, drawing and creating patterns in partner work. Super focus and concentration!
