Monthly Archives: June 2018

Monday 25th June 2018

This week in nursery we will be staying goodbye to Austen who has been with us for several sessions this term as part of our work experience programme.  Austen has been a hit with both the staff and morning children and we wish him all the best as he continues his journey.  We will have the “schoolers” (that’s what they have named themselves!) meeting with their buddies on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday this week and they will be heading to healthy tuck on Thursday.  Nursery sports are hopefully going to take place on Wednesday and we will be cheering the school on at their sports day on Friday.   Apparently there is a heatwave coming so please remember to slap on the sun cream and provide glasses and hats for protection.

Can I take this opportunity to thank all our parent helpers this year,  without your help we would not be able to go on in the community.  Many thanks to Mrs Stephen and Mrs Huddleston for helping us with the library.

If you have any donations to hand in for our Teddy Toddle we should be most obliged if you could do so asap and if you have any library books still at home please return them.

Many thanks

June has arrived …….

This week at nursery……….Monday  will be our last library day and that will give our children and parent helpers plenty of time to return the books and get ready for next year.  Can I say a huge thank you yo Jamie and Owens mums for coming into nursery every week to help run the library.  Tuesday – circle time on transition to P1 and am children to  explore Carronhill Grounds of Learning.  Wellie Wednesday planting and sorting over in the mud garden for the pm children.  Loose parts play for the am children.  Many thanks to Mrs Robertson for her recent donations to the garden. Thursday the schoolers (that’s what they have named themselves ) will be learning a new Makaton song and the ante preschool children will be taking part in songs/rhymes and yoga. On Friday we hope to practice our sports day skills.

In craft the children are busy making medals and at the literacy area they are being invited to make a story book on their visit to Arduthie school for the Teddy Bear Picnic as a thank you. Several children want to write their numbers and we are busy working with all the children on their chosen next steps.  Many thanks to everyone for handing in their Teddy Toddle Sponsors, you have  raised over £800.00 so far with donations still coming in so I hope to give you a final figure soon.  Tremendous effort, thank you.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and keep an eye on our notice board for changes.

Can you help?

Can you please check to see if you have any nursery clothing at home.  We are missing several pairs of boys and girls trousers and leggings, along with tops, pants and socks.  Also if your child has grown out of their clothes we would be great full for any donations in sizes 2 to 6 years.

Many thanks.

Teddy Bears Picnic

Good morning,

What a beautiful morning for our day of picnics……….we look forward to welcoming the children and their bears later.  Many thanks to our parent helpers today.  We can not do these trips without your help so it’s much appreciated.  If staff have asked for buggies to come in please remember them.  We are hoping to purchase our own buggies but don’t, as yet, have any.  Just to confirm the children will be back at nursery in time for normal pick up times.

Lastly can you please remember to cover the children in sun cream and pop on a sun hat, we have been learning about how to stay safe so don’t be surprised if they remind you to do this.

Thank you.
