Parental Feedback – Have your say!

This year the nursery held its very first Stay and Play sessions in June to introduce the nursery and staff to our new August intake.  We loved the sessions and asked parents for their feedback.  Here are some of the comments we received.

Q1.  Did you find the stay and play sessions helpful?

“It helped make my child feel at ease, knowing I was there and helped me meet the staff and see the environment.”                   “Yes, it was a good opportunity to view the layout and facilities and to speak to staff members”.              “Yes, I would have liked a small presentation where the staff introduced themselves.”

Q2. Were the forms in your Welcome Pack easy to complete?

Yes

Q3.  Did your child enjoy finding items to include in his/her treasure box enjoyable as a transition activity?

“Yes it was perfect in building her confidence in a new setting.”    “Great activity for him to do prior to beginning nursery.  He was full of excitement to take back his box to nursery.”              “He has no idea about this activity at first, so most of the items were prepared by me, however after his “show and tell” session he understood how it worked and regretted not putting more items in.”

Q4.  How do you feel your child has settled into Mill O’ Forest Nursery?

“He is loving nursery and feeling very positive about the routines.”   “I have no concerns at all, she is thoroughly enjoying her time there.”  “He has settled very well and I have no worried or issues.  He comes home happy every day and I can see a change in him already.  He is becoming much more independent.”  “I find it quite a change from private nursery where you get a summary of their day as I don’t get much information from him, however I appreciate that it is more like school  and staff have limited time”.

Q5.  Have you felt welcomed by all our staff?

“Yes, very and I think all staff have built a rapport quickly with the children.”     “Yes all have been very friendly and I believe the staff are the main reason that he has settled in so well.”  “Yes all staff are so warm and friendly towards her and her older brother.  Staff are very chatty and helpful and without the current staff I as a mum would struggle leaving her.”

Q6.  Do you find the information on our newsletter and blog informative?

“Yes I enjoy reading the newsletters when they are handed out.”  “The blog tells us the fun activities the children had in their sessions.”  “Newsletter yes, but I’m not sure if I have seen the blog yet?”  “I do like the letters and updates, however I am disappointed that I have not received the nursery handbook yet”.

Thank you all very much for your comments, we really appreciate your feedback and it allows us to assess our practice.

Come and Share A Story

We would love it if you would come in over the next two weeks to share a story with the children.  Over this time the children have been invited to bring in their favourite story to share with staff and their friends.  We hope to go shopping for some snack items this week so fingers crossed for dry weather on Wednesday! We will be continuing with Mandarin and we also hope to do some planting both inside and out.  Please have a look at our floorbook to see what we are up too!
