We started with a Talking Tub today full of Scottish things.  For craft we made our own  Highland Coos and a group of children made the popular Heather McCoo by Steve Brown. We decided it was a rainbow Coo because of all the lovely colours.

Miss Ross has a new Highland Coo on her farm which needed a name.  Everyone  suggested names and Kayla-May was the winner!  Miss Ross will post a photo of Poppy soon.  We were busy drawing and colouring thistles and at the easel we painted pictures of Rabbie Burns.  Our home corner was turned into the kind of home Rabbie would have lived in long ago.  The pre-school children went through to the school for a special assembly. We finished off the day dancing and singing to The Shooglie Woogly.

This week we have been learning about ladybirds. Ask us for some fascinating facts! Here’s some we have made. Our talking homework for next week is to talk about spiders as that’s what we have chosen to learn about next.

Today we explored frost outside.  We collected frosty things and brought them back to nursery to see what happened.  One of the boy’s granny put salt on her path last night, so we tried putting salt on the ice to see what happened.  The salty ice melted faster!

Nuresery enrolment is on January 23rd.  We are having an open night for parents of children who might like to come to our nursery on Tuesday 17th January from 4-5pm.  If you have any friends who would like to look around then please let them know.

We would like to welcome our new starts.  Everyone is settling in and we a spending some time going over our golden rules so that everyone stays safe and happy in nursery.
