Following the task on the grid. I decided to go on a shape walk around my home to find a variety of shapes. Follow my sway to see how I got on. I might need some help with organising them into the correct group.

Spicy challengers might like to sit and listen to ‘Yucky Worms’ by Vivian French. You could turn the sound off and read the book independently by pausing the clip at the right time for you. List the facts you learn from the story in your journal or sway.
Hot challengers, older children might like to watch the Springwatch documentary about earthworms which includes information about their importance, varieties. predators, how they reproduce and how to investigate them. Creating a mindmap would help you to summarise the main points in your learning journal or sway.

Hello. I had a look at the numeracy grids and I liked the idea of a Grid 1 Mild challenge- a number spotting walk around my house. I was looking for odd numbers- here’s what I found. What odd number are in your house ?
In school numeracy is often taught using practical materials, in particular numicon and ten frames.
A ten frame is a rectangle split into 2 rows and 5 columns.
It is used to show numbers that are less than or equal to 10.
Placing objects on the frames helps children to visualise different ways to represent numbers.

An empty egg box can be a great 10 frame.
It is a great way to help children organise amounts to count.
