Snowy Days
LLast week Gordon Primary, along with many other schools in Aberdeenshire, was closed on Tuesday and Wednesday due to heavy snow. Pupils were able to do work from their snowpacks or Education city. But hopefully they didn`t stay inside all day, and made the most of the snowy weather to make igloos, snowmen or go sledging. Hopefully everyone is happy to be back to school.

P6A Tudors
P6A are doing Tudors as their topic but are almost finished. To finish the topic they are describing Henry VIII when he was young and old. They have also discussed if Henry was a star or a monster. They decided that Henry was a star instead of a monster. He did more things good, like making England a strong and powerful country but when it was bad things it was really bad.
Their next project is going to be Fairtrade and they are looking really forward to it.

In the Nursery they have been having some fun and games out in the hall. When we were through in the hall taking some photos they were playing duck duck goose. For some of them it was their first time. Everybody enjoyed it very much.

Robert Burns
As we all now on the 25th of January it will be Robert Burns day.
Robert Burns was a famous poet in the 1700 and is still very famous today. Here is some of his poems/songs my love is like a red red rose (song) Tam O Shanter (poem.) He is also famous for other poem and songs.
Everyone will be learning and reciting a poem and doing it Robert Burns day to remember him.
Most of us will be having haggis neaps and tatties on the 25th or going out for a traditional meal. I hope everybody is looking forward to it and good luck with the poems.

Nativity
Primary 1 worked very hard to produce a wonderful performance of the first Christmas. Their performance included lovely singing and great costumes. The cast included innkeepers, kings, shepherds, angels, stars, narrators, sheep, Mary, Joseph and many more.
They performed first to parents and relatives. The audience were invited to make a contribution towards Driel, the schools sponsored child.
After that they performed to pupils and staff. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Well done Primary 1!
